The dcf 887 is a better tool alround tool than the 840 , the gearbox is the big plus ,you can do occasional drywall with the 887 ware as the 840 will b through the stud, that's if U want a budget old model ,

whats the point if it cant mow autonomously? You're still following this thing around even though you aren't pushing/steering it by hand. The remote control is just ridiculous.
@ThriftyToolShed12 күн бұрын
Nice mower and great review Jim. Looks like it would be handy for terrain similar to yours for sure. I was wondering, if the remote has a display to see from a integrated camera or was all of that video footage seeing it go from an action camera that you mounted on the front?
@PhillyFixed12 күн бұрын
The footage was from a GoPro mounted on the front. An integrated camera with output to the remote screen would definitely help when you're driving the mower at a greater distance!

So unless u need a very compact driver,The 887 wins ,its half the price and up there in performance

Nice video! Interesting concept. Do you think that you would prefer this to actually using a walk behind mower? It seems like where you have to still be controlling it, it doesn't make as much sense as a robotic lawn mower does but I could be wrong.
@PhillyFixed12 күн бұрын
@@TinkerWithTools I think a robot mower makes more sense, but most robot mowers don't have a "real" mower blade. The consensus seems to be that the cut quality on those is mediocre. This unit is firmware updatable and they have some add-on kits. I've heard rumors of a GPS add-on to make it autonomous, but we'll see

Wow, nice big house. Like you said, the 2WD seems a better idea to me cause it doesnt tear up the lawn. But as I commented on tools&stuff, they need to add a camera with third person view. Cause whats the point with a remote controlled lawnmower when I have to run around it all the time to make sure I actually mow something. Its like selling a drone where you have to fly beside it (ok, not a good example). I want to sit on the deck in the shade, maybe have a additional tablet with the camera view on my lap and race around the proberty.

I agree being able to calibrate the sensors or alow the owner to bypass them so the remote dosent limit its range to 25 feet is a good idea let the owner take the liability 16:00 @Philly Fixed

Great video. The mower is cool and all, and I see the need that some people would have for it, not being able to physically mow their lawn, but playing devil's advocate, it's just a 'look what I can afford' toy for others, just a status symbol, and one step closer to Wall-E level of laziness for others. Not your mower not your thing, I get it, so i'll say great video again, super informative, best one yet on this mower. Very cool Jim!!!

It seems to me the closer the fastener is to the edges of the material, the easier it will drive because the material being displaced has more room to move. I see this sort of thing on every test channel, better to cut 4x4 or 6x6 stacks and drive through the center for each test

What’s interesting is that the Milwaukee drill that’s outperforming the Makita XGT is a Gen 2 drill, there’s already a gen 4 out which is faster. I use both Makita and Milwaukee and I love both but Milwaukee is always more powerful and can take it harder beating
@PJK-44415 күн бұрын
Probably ok for lower power (lower current) tools, but another set of contacts would act as a power drop. If your tool is pulling even 10 amps, that could be a volt of drop, imagine pulling 50A or 100A! Thats a huge power loss to the tool. Milwaukee and DeWalt weld the batteries together (sometimes 3 welds per battery contact) to get milliohms of resistance.

I have been working on cars for around 2 years now and I still use one of these almost daily. Use it on skidplate bolts, airboxes. Extremely handy for anything that isnt torqued too high. Even takes off more than you'd expect for how little it costs. Anything this can't get off I use the DCF900 which hasnt been stopped yet.
