One really cool thing Dead space 2 did is often overlooked, very small yet completely by design based on previous expectations. In Dead space 1, all elevators (other than unwalled lifts and the mining deck elevator, which are both very visually different from the standard closed pod elevator) are safe. You will never be jumpscared in an elevator, and nothing can spawn in them. In Dead Space 2, this holds true as well.. until one specific elevator with a scripted necromorph spawn. Completely shattering the preconceived safety of elevators. All were safe until then, but afterwards, you don't know if it will happen again, which elevator will or will not have more. I don't remember if it's just the one, because it's been a long time, but that 100% made me paranoid for the rest of the game and in dead space 3. Pretty neat thing the devs did, something so small with such a large impact

I came into this video thinking that this was just some Matrix super fan cope video. But after watching I think you're absolutely right. Makes me see this movie in a different way.

most people use pirated games as a demo before buying the actual game. just to make sure the game is worth buying. so basically pirates are providing free advertisement

Pressure sensative games that I know of are latter Ace Combat games (4+), Sly Cooper utilizes it very subtly, Tony Hawk definately uses the × sensativity, Jak and Daxter combat racing and Bond car levels too on the PS2.

So tired of this "hyper realistic" bs. I want games to go back to what they were in the 2000s at least or earlier.

Personally I felt the movie wasn't THAT bad. It was watchable and of course people will give anything that's part of the series a chance. The first Matrix movie was VERY good, but when the writers and developers started expanding it into a trilogy, I think they screwed up a lot of really basic stuff that ruined any actual potential it could've had for a decent sequel. Here's my suggestion for a better concept on a continuation of the first movie's story: The machines decide to change their ways and try to give humanity a second chance at rebuilding their own sovereign culture in the real world, only to run into a million different social issues involved in trying to realize that. For instance, one idea would be to have many of the humans preferring to remain in the matrix, arguing that the simulation itself was so realistic that it's more natural and free to simply keep things the way they were. Other humans would then prefer to take the opposite approach. Then you'd have people that are pissed off at either of these groups trying to stir things up, either waging some type of war against other humans and/or their screwed up relationships with the machines. You could have machines fighting each other, and people fighting each other, in and outside of the matrix, etc. I mean, honestly, the 4th one in the series sort of had this, so it's not THAT bad I guess. The problem in my opinion is that they keep trying to extend the franchise into sequel upon sequel upon sequel. Realistically, the goal should be to simply find a story worthy of being a sequel to the first movie. They should just keep re-imagining what might be a way to build a story that's at least as good as the first that reuses story elements from the first movie. For instance, if you look at how many movies are called "Batman," there's a ton. They don't have to remake The Matrix, because it's already pretty damn decent as is, but sequel-wise, they just never conceptualized a proper culture worthy of expanding on, let alone following too closely. The actual world itself was by definition artificial and filled with these types of post-apocalyptic deserts. I mean, the second movie in the franchise did sorta okay with expanding on what Zion could've maybe looked like. There's just too much weird crazy shit in the first one that doesn't work for a sequel. Like the battery thing: are they running machines off people's souls? Like, wtf? If you wanted to make it into a giant series, then maybe expand on just the basic common sense things that were intentionally left vague from lazy writing. To be honest, the first movie isn't even THAT good. It's pretty good, but far from perfect. It's meant to appeal to a younger audience of pseudo-intellectuals that like contemplating the vaguest definitions of freedom and technocratic brave new world type shit. I mean, it's like the first Matrix movie was just ripping off Brave New World now that I really think about it. -_-

There is a valid point but I think including Dishonored as an example shows the issue with this statement. Dishonored is a longer game than hotline Miami but you like the gameplay so don’t mind. All games fun is subjective and in no way involves game length time.

This is the strategy everyone should employ, if a game comes out that’s 70 dollars, check piracy websites first, 2nd check resellers, and if none come to that conclusion do not buy it, let it go on sale a month down the road and then buy it from a reseller, but for the love of god buy indie dev games from steam don’t pirate those

I have several old DVDs and most of them have this anti-piracy advertisement. The problem is that I'm Portuguese and I live in Portugal and the funny thing is that they only copied the English version (very few have the version translated into Portuguese) and as is to be expected from a child who is not English, I lived my childhood thinking it was a trailer for a movie 😅 it was only when he was 16 that he went looking for the DVDs and as he already knew a little English I understood that it wasn't a trailer but an advertisement 😂

i believe that the buttons will soon stop having symbols: first, desktop and mobile games won't show the symbols anymore, so indie developers don't have to program detecting the type of controller. the icon of each button will show all four buttons and highlight the one that's being meant - Nintendo Switch pioneered this approach for sideways Joy‑Cons. much later, the console makers will remove the symbols from the games and controller. they have good reason to hesitate because the old games would have to be reworked to show the modern button prompts - either in the game itself or just lining up the modern button symbols with the old ones at the bottom, below the whole game.
