transmitter 2, stand alone sounds better. Is the djii lav mic the way to go? There seems to be other graet options to like sennheiser or rode 2, etc. Which would be best with a dji mic2 transmittere?
@RyanWitherspoonАй бұрын
In my opinion I like the original DJI mic better than the new one. I can’t really give you a fair opinion on all the competitors due to not having any experience with them Besides DJI and Rode if I had to choose between Rode or DJI I would choose Rode Wireless Pro because of sound quality and bang for your buck with everything that’s included, But if you only care about the sound quality and not 32bit float I would save money and buy the original DJI Mic because they sound amazing just as good as the Wireless Pro just no 32bit float. Side note the new lavs from DJI work on the original DJI Mics I’ve tested them and they sound pretty good

Nice video.Two questions..Is mkh 50 good for tracking instruments in a home studio and what camera do you use when you speak with the hat the quality it's very nice ..
@RyanWitherspoonАй бұрын
From my understanding the Mkh 50 & Mkh 40 are really good all around microphone. I would play around with the bass roll off if I used it with instruments because the MKH 50 can sound a little deep which may work well with some instruments but not others. Lucky there’s a switch for bass roll off on the mic. For my camera I’m using the Fx3 with a black pro mist filter 1/8 strength. Setting I’m just using S cinetone. So if you had an A7iv or A7slll you could get the same image

Also, I heard what you said about the Theos and same here, I bought the kit and thought it was bad. Deity actually sent me a replacement and I still got quite a bit of self noise. I did multiple gain-staging tests and wanted it to work out but returned them both. Will wait until it’s been addressed.

@dcameron77365 ай бұрын
For the money once you buy lavaliers it's just better to go with RODE Pro more memory, better Lavalier mics & internal mics, plus the extremely robust option in app for what the Pro can do in sound & time code
@Tanner_Teves5 ай бұрын
@@dcameron7736 I still spent less than the RODE system because I only got the 1 TX 1 RX DJI kit and 1 Lav mic. If the RODE was able to connect to the DJI Action 4 wirelessly with no RX then I would have gone that route. But it can’t and I need nothing on the DJI Action 4 because I do driving POV videos and the camera sits on my face and I can’t have extra stuff hanging off of it.

Thanks for the comparisons. Do you know if the original DJI mic transmitter works with the mic 2 receiver and the receiver built-in to the Pocket 3? Because if it does, that would be a great and cheap fix for this problem, since you can buy the original DJI mic transmitters new for $80.
@RyanWitherspoon5 ай бұрын
I know for sure the original mic do not work with the pocket 3 because it does not have Bluetooth capabilities. As far as connecting the original to the new mic 2 transmitter I don’t think it’s possible being two different hardware and software

@TwoTimesRmedia5 ай бұрын
So listening to the OGs vs the 2s you hear some hiss on the OGs . I don't think it sounds muffled I just feel there is more hiss in the OGs and the sound on the 2s are more flat with no hiss . Also I notice the wireless pros built in mics pick up more environmental noise and the mic 2s picture up less environmental noise and hone in more to your voice. You can eq them to add some clarity. Taking out some bass and a little highs.
@RyanWitherspoon5 ай бұрын
Yeah I agree with you the Mic 2 self noise is extremely low I was amazed by that. I also agree with you the mic 2 are flat not muffled. I feel a little crazy for saying that now. I had another person remind me that the mic 2 are similar to the shure Sm7B they are just flat sounding mics.

@TwoTimesRmedia5 ай бұрын
Honestly you sound like you got the mics you need. The only reason I got the DJI Mic 2 is because I was coming from the rode wireless gos 1st gen . Also, Most people recording videos about the DJI Mic 2s aren't turning off the low cut filter for their videos. This is on from the factory. Yes small factor 32 bit float has been around before but none as small as the DJI mics 2s.
@RyanWitherspoon5 ай бұрын
I turned off my low cut filter before creating the video. I did notice it was on when I was going through the menu when I first got them, And yes I understand that dji may be the smallest but my point was 32 bit float has been around for many years even in a small form factor. What makes dJI and Rode So special is not 32 Bit Float but the combination of being small and the transmitters is the microphone on top of 32 bit float. Not just 32 bit float and I would even argue not even how small they are it’s the fact that the transmitter is the microphone which makes them special and game changing.
@TwoTimesRmedia5 ай бұрын
@@RyanWitherspoon so you got them ? I mean the DJI Mic 2s ? I thought you were saying you probably won't get them . I love the size and the sound of these mics . They are pretty close to the rode wireless gos but, with the charging case , 32 bit float and on board recording I was sold. Also the size in comparison to my original rode mic gos . I was going to get the rode wireless pros before these were released but , I'm liking the size and design of these. I love the see-through black . I also got the new wired lav mic. I'm going to record a video with the wired lav mic. Can't forget to mention I love how I can connect the receiver to my android phone and record directly to my camera app with them and it holds in place nicely .

Great video! Quality and production is simple and clean. You’re correct about the audio sounding better when you record internally, IF you pump audio into your camera it’s at a 16bit rate vs the higher 24bit of DJI MIC 1 or DJI MIC 2 at 32bit.
