I have a craftsman self propelled I have taken off the carburetor and cleaned it however there were to springs that came off and I don't know where they go. This is the only thing holding me up from having a running mower. Do you know where they go? or do you know where I can find a picture of where they go, thank you

Hello, I have a Black Max 4 cycle trimmer. It has never run. got it on clearance and cant return it. I have spark, i got a new plug, will not run with starter fluid in the carb. Will not do anything. from what I understand disassembly is required to find timing mark on the crank shaft. I get a little, very littel smoke from exhaust. Any help would be appreciated

However, it quickly turned out that this creates a kind of contact bridge between battery packs and lawn mowers. An additional backup as a father of a 1 year old nephew is great!! :-)

Hi Adam, your video was excellent in explaining how to re-open the internal fuel passages of a BS carburetor housing. After sitting without running for a few years, the engine for my mother's power washer started NORMALLY after cleaning out the debris from the internal passages of the carb. Thanks so much!! First thing you should have done was dumped the old fuel not pumping back in

Bought a new carb for my HFT Preditor 79cc engine. The second I poured gasoline in the tank, it was gushing out of a tiny hole in the side of the carb. My guess is this is a bowl vent on this new carb. The original carb seems to have a BB-like metal ball inserted in the exact same place, but the replacement carb doesn't have this BB in the hole. And oddly, it looks like it was never supposed to have a BB in it. No idea why this tiny hole exists except to leak gasoline. The hole was designed into the casting, it doesn't seem to be a defect. Maybe the carb needs to be primed by unscrewing the bowl's side screw to allow gas to run into the bowl instead of out the hole??? Anyone? It made a mess, so I'm hesitant to try again until I find some answers. Tx

Thank you so much for this video. It is exactly the problem I had on my Toro. The carburetor was new with a new gasket but still wouldn't prime (had to shoot in carburetor cleaner to start it). I cleaned the primer bulb and screen and still nothing. I was ready to give up but found this. I added a small piece of masking tape like you talked about and now it spouts like a geyser. Started right up first try.

Clever guy! That's been driving me nuts. New primer bulb, new carburetor, still no start unless take out sparkplug and spray starting fluid in cylinder. But with your fix, it works! "resourceful, do a lot with a little" Awesome.

Thanks for the video. I took off and cleaned a b&g carb (full of rust) from a mower that sat for two years and wouldn't even try to turn over. Put it back together, one pull and it's purring like a cat!

In eighteen years working on my current mower (B&S engine also), regular carb cleaning and breakdowns, cylinder head removal, piston cleaning etc. I was never aware until now about that gasket on the air filtre cover.
