My car hit another car, went off the road and rolled through trees. I woke up in hospital unable to feel or move anything from the chest down. I had a fracture and dislocation that severed my spinal cord, so now I’m paraplegic. The other driver was fine apart from bruises.

Got paralyzed in 2012. 2013 was the happiest ive ever been. Get spiritual and healthy and in the present moment and realize happiness is a state of mind! You have everything you need in your consiousness 🙏🏻 think of it as a reset and its a challenge not a threat. Spirit is eternal so make the best of it. Always be positive 🤙🏻🌠

That’s amazing! I became paraplegic in 2019. I think my lowest point was around the two year mark when all hope of recovery had gone down the drain. Now I’m living independently ❤

That lady that got paralyzed by medical mistake, I hope she at least got 100 times his annual salary. Not goingto bring back her health but at least doesn't have to suffer financially too

A friend of mine passed away a year ago on July 15 due to shattering his C5 and C6 while diving into a pool. No one noticed that he jumped in they found him face down. By the time he was found it was too late. I’ve always wondered if he was conscious but couldn’t do anything to save himself and begging in his mind for someone to notice him. hearing Russles story just gave me my answer. I’m sorry to anyone that has been affected in this way. The family’s aswell. you are all so much stronger than I could ever dream of being.

I was very lucky. I was smashed into driving across the intersection by someone turning left rushed and hit my car. I was sent flying up into the grassy corner of intersection just missing trees and poles. I remember saying Oh $hit, oh $hit until my car stopped. I remember seeing flames … I was told by a passerby not to move. EMS put a neck brace on and later found out I had broken my neck at C2. Luckily I healed with a neck brace. I’m afraid to drive now. My one year old car was totalled with 4000 kms.

It seems only the App run is open for registration. When will the Flagship races be open for registration?

I love this race! I did the inaugural one years ago and set my distance goal to 21.1km. Got there and I stopped running. I met a few fellow run club members who were faster than me but had also chosen that distance. We had a chat and waited for the chaser car to get to us and a few minutes later the bus picked us up and drove us back to the start. It was a lot of fun!

My son has had a SCI on September 2023 and participated for the first time together with my husband. It was the best experience he has ever had. Thank you Wings for Life for all the clinical trials you are supporting. Hope will have soon the cure for SCI

WFL was my first race ever and it was amazing - there was only around 40 of us in a local park, but it was great, people waving and cheering each other. Can't wait for the next one, this time I'll be going to the flagship run in Poznań - see you there 🤩🏃♀

I have been a C5/6 quadriplegic (paralyzed from the chest, down) since 2010. I signed up for the run the last few years, in California, to be a small part of the WFL World Run. A huge thank you to Red Bull and everyone involved in the Wings for Life study to find a cure for spinal cord injuries - workers, volunteers, doctors, etc. I'm 60 years old and don't expect to see a cure in my lifetime but I hope a cure is found for the next generation and beyond. Another huge thank you to all of the runners, walkers and rollers all over the world who participated in this year's run to run for those of us who can't. Thank you, thank you. ♿👍🤙💪😎
