im also cant walk i was chatting with friend some how i just got an idea a way to help other and myself walking again. but there are few way to do it.. my family ask me why u so quiet i was like mom i think i knw a way that i can walk again she think im talking jubarish, till now i see this video they will believe me when i show them..i never saw this video till now...if i got an idea who should i talk to elon musk people? i think i might got the answer. I am an outsider to science, but I'd assume based on my k-12 education that part of the reason they have such poor control and struggle to recover is that likely the nervous system forgets how to move and must be retaught. If they could get an implant into someone immediately after injury my guess is that they will have little recovery to do in comparison. It's just a hypothesis though, would love to see an actual scientist test it.

Edit: didn’t know it was click bait lol but great job with recovery. I was paralyzed t-12 almost 4 years ago. I can run but only for like 7-10 seconds before I get tired an gotta stop an walk. Every ones different

The only advice I can give this guy is Spend your life looking after his Spine straightness & posture ! He is what is called an Incomplete Quadriplegic Like myself of 50 yrs incomplete quad ! He wont run again he will only wear his shoulder joints out due to the forces generated lifting himself up and pushing his chair ! Another thing ! use a electric chair on long trips , His thoughts of becoming normal again will disappear over time as he should spend time on the above and stop be spired on by people thinking crap There not disabled and haven't a clue and usually only their for the money generated Good Luck in life oh and look after your Kidneys is a must
