The unknown resistance is known to me and it's approx 6 ohm.

Sir why the value of emf is taken different by some teachers,like my teacher told me to take emf as 1.5 v and another told to take it 2.6 v .plz tell which value should be taken and is accurate?

It depends upon the no. Of cell you are using for each experiment and their strength , if the no. Of cell used in the experiment is only 1 then each cell value is 1.5 volts as written on the cell, if no of cell are 2 the. 1.5x2=3 volts should be taken as emf. If they are weak cells then the value will be less then 3 as suggested by your teacher. Hope you understand how the values of emf varies in experiment
