Ride a 2015 BMW RT and had an opportunity to ride my friends 2023 RT. The bike felt a little more balanced and the exhaust note was a little deeper in the bike, and of course the TFT was amazing. The only thing I would like is for the NAV to have a satellite connection understanding you lose connectivity in the U.S. where’s there’s no coverage via the cell carriers.

You are almost at the headquarters, just ask the CEO to upgrade the app and allow all the Connected app users enjoy Apple CarPlay 🙂 I would be thankfull ;-) ps: I am seriously considering to install my old Zumo XT on my 1 year old RT. But BMW should be a shame!!!

Hey there, Rich. One of my questions I intend asking my local motorrad dealer concerns the integration of the sat nav on the bike. I've read and heard accounts that there are problems. As an owner of a BMW car, my question is why would the navigation be inferior by comparison on the bike? Have you got it working to your satisfaction? If there have been updates, I wonder if they'll be available retrospectively for 2023 models. Any thoughts? Cheers, Bourne.
@RichardHMorris7 ай бұрын
It's a good question for them and I'm pleased I don't have that comparison to make. Why not simply have CarPlay on the RT? It's a no-brainer, surely? The BMW Connected App needs both Bluetooth and a wireless connection between the phone and bike to work and does not have any "safety camera" alerts for supposedly dangerous sections of road, rather than getting prompts from Waze or Maps, etc. It also drops out from time to time. BMW: JUST ENABLE CARPLAY!

Well, as I live and breathe! None other than himself pops up on my KZfaq feed. Due entirely because I've been looking at BMW motorrad offerings and currently quite interested in the R1250LT. I'm glad you're back on 2 wheels and sounding healthy and well. Love, Dino 🦖

The dealership has made ypur plate up incorrectly. It shoukd be 8000 RM. As displayed it is misrepresented and indicates 800 ORM. The standard size plare can take 4 characters on one line as most plates have 7 characters. I would get them to change that for you asap. Cracking bike BTW
@RichardHMorris7 ай бұрын
Thanks! I already had a plate made up with the letters spaced as expected so I whacked it on. I love the RT. Everything I’d hoped it would be. Very grown up though 😅

@RichardHMorris8 ай бұрын
I thought the Akra would be noisier, but it doesn't seem to make that much difference? I have a full Akra system on my Kawasaki ZRX1200R and love it. Looks wise, your Akra really will look good! I stayed away from the 719 Options list, partly because I needed a shorty clutch lever due to finger amputations and my gloves now getting trapped, and sadly the 719 Options don't seem to include one. So Wunderlich got that gig along with the side stand base enlarger.

No; once I'd had what was left of my little finger amputated before Christmas 2020 I was then able to grip a handlebar again. After fitting a shorty Pazzo clutch lever to try to reduce the number of times I trap the two empty glove fingers, I was able to get back on two wheels again! Yes, 5bhp out or so. It was more powerful than some ZZR1400s on the day too. But then it has high compression pistons, is gas flowed, with ZZR1200 cams, junked airbus and a race Akrapovic exhaust, so I'm not surprised at the numbers. Jealousy is not an attractive trait.

Seen the dyno chart for 'May 2011' on your website. Impressive results. There has been questions about the accuracy of the Dyno at the Ace. Tho not far off results from both. So it's gas flowed (Stage 1 with K&N or similar), full exhaust system, and Dymags, (I glean from my limited knowledge ;) ). Would recommend (a small easy mod) titanium disc bolts all round and sprocket nuts as you now know the advantages of light weight wheels.
