I have the original version of the Cortez 5CS with the red spool and handle. The reel as been fished hard and caught a lot of big fish and it has never failed me. Biggest fish was a 72 lb yellowfin tuna. Had it full of 65 lb braid and a short 40 lb mono topshot. Had to button down the drag pretty hard and it survived like a champ. I've replaced a couple bearings and replaced the drag washers but that is it. Casts like a dream too.

If I could only have one size to do it all.. baitcasting and jigging... rockaway hd 12ft or should I go shorter for lighter lure range? I'm stuck. You need to use the pedulem Cast to get maximum castimg distance You reel needs to be an 1/8 inch smaller than the first giide To eliminate line slap against the rod. Also need the right placement of the first guide to get MAXIMUM casting distance. Depends on how long the rod is to know the correct length to Start your cast .

What happens when line snaps? NOTHING & that’s an issue. They pollute and destroy oceans. There should be a law that requires a digital tracker to automatically report when a long cast snaps to local wildlife management so there’s a $10 fine per yard of snapped line. Need to start enforcing the true cost of these polluting activities.

Have you had a problem with the heavy baits/loads swinging below the drone and causing your drone to lose control, fly erratic or crash? I had a weight(2lbs exactly )about three feet below my phantom 4 and when i came to a stop the weight would swing and cause my drone to go nuts and I even crashed once but it was it tall grass thankfully. Ever had these issues and if so how did you stop/mitigate it??
