BTW, Quickest kill is a "remove bracelet" choice under character menu options. Unclaimable beds are a temporary glitch. Sometimes you have to reload the game, or move out of render distance for the glitch to stop. Build a grass or hide sleeping roll nearby beds until you get the beds to work properly, rather than starting in the desert each time.

If you keep one of the first two imps alive, the mind Flayer will go for it if it is closer than the Cambions. I like to toss him up on the ledge to make the pathing much farther to get to the imp.

Very underrated series. It's cool to see how you've refined your strategies from the first go around. I've watched you go through the motions with a few different classes, and I think it basically comes down to a principle of every little bit of damage counting, since a good chunk of these battles end only at the final possible turn. What I'm curious about is how much multiplayer would increase the probability of success. If you have four custom characters, all self-controlled, and then you have Shadowheart + Lae'zel + Us, how far can this go? Are there any classes at all which would make it significantly easier? I imagine having a Warlock to apply Hex is invaluable. Would a Barbarian be better to wield the Everburn blade than Lae'zel due to the Rage bonus, especially since a Raging barbarian has advantage on Strength checks? Lots of potential ways around it, but interested in hearing your thoughts. What party of 4 custom characters would you make to breeze through the fight, and how many rounds do you think you could potentially finish it in?

I appreciate the comment. With multiplayer, I would probably do at least two Barbarians, and then someone who can cast bless, and someone who can cast faerie fire. Also bardic inspiration is helpful. Damage types they don’t resist make the DPR a little better on average, but of all the runs, I think warlock took me the most tries. I got extremely lucky with landing hits on the run. What you don’t see in this series is that I never got it in my first try. Most I managed by my fifth try, but there is just a lot of luck involved that you can’t always account for. Would be fun to try with a full custom party though.

Why did you dump dexterity? I assume you did it because initiative is not important for barbarian and constitution will compensate the AC.

I actually dumped dexterity to increase the chance I would go after the mind Flayer in initiative order.

@@Aldi-pv1eb If everybody goes between Zhalk and the Mind Flayer in initiative order, it makes it very difficult to force the AOO’s you need to beat the clock. If you shove the Mind Flayer after it moves, you force Zhalk to chase after him.

I cant even get the out of combat cheese anymore. have they patched that as well? Cant see how this is doable outside of explorer and maybe tactician.

Not sure about the cheese, but this is definitely still doable, even on honor mode. My first attempt to 100% the Nautiloid after patch six was only ruined by a Cambion rolling a max damage hit on Lae’zel. Otherwise it would have been a success.

@@haiclips3358 If you leave one of the first two Imps alive, the Mind Flayer stays friendly the entire fight. Aside from that, bless is really helpful, especially if you precast it. Also, shoving the Mind Flayer, and forcing Zhalk to move gives you some potential for opportunity attacks each round. If you can get everyone below 30 hp, you can have Lae’zel set down the four tanks and use the cleave attack point blank to finish everyone off. Check out my channel for videos of these tactics.

I was able to save Meerna by examining them before Nere aggro'd against me for killing the Duergar. It's a bit finicky. If you don't examine them, they disappear. Anyway, I spoke to the brother, Welso. At first their dialogue was two lines, like "Do anything you want, just don't hurt my sister." and "My sister, she's still back there! MEERNA!" (They would give this line even when Meerna was moved to be right in front of them). After Speaking with Beldron, Welso's lines change to "My sister - dead! By Nere's hand!", again, while their sister stands right in front of them. Seems that, unlike Smythin with the spider-pits in the goblin infested Selune temple, the game didn't account for saving this one.

So, I never went through the quest line. I skipped the murder tribunal entirely. Used misty step to bypass the last door, before facing Orin. None of the NPC’s start combat when you attack them. When you attack Orin, she fights back, and if you knock her out, it plays the slayer death animation, and you get her netherstone. If you unlock Halsin, Orin cutscene plays and she’s alive again, and turns into her slayer form, but when the cutscene ends, the slayer just drops down unconscious. I bring the slayer to 0 hp and it turns back in to Orin, who is still stuck at zero hp, but won’t die. What’s worse is that halsin ends up getting glued to lae’zel, and he’s super bugged.

@@Superdonko Aaaah, thx for explaining. In my playthru, halsin's thaniel quest bugged, even though I freed nightsong (which lifted the shadows curse). In baldur's gate I smashed the $#% outta the murder council yesturday (great loot and xp BTW), did balduran's trials, and now im pumping up to hit orin and gortash.
