I love this movie. Very strong 8/10 for me. It's very underrated and should be more popular among slasher fans. I wish they'd made a prequel to this one seated in the 50's when the Coffin baby was born and how it all occured. I'd like to see Lusman hotel in its prime time and some occult rituals. It might have some shining/eyes wide shut vibes.

@@jdshorrorreviews Awesome! Enjoy, I wish I could re-experience them like for the first time! Warning for spoilers in the trailer of Ghostland: I've literally seen a trailer reaction in which the people literally guessed a big plot twist the second the trailer was over. So I would strongly recommend NOT watching any trailers before watching that movie, it would really ruin it. Overall I tend to always avoid trailers myself anyway, they're clearly typically made exclusively to sell tickets, not to give the best viewing experience for the audience... I'm the screenwriter for 'BORN' and I want to thank you for reviewing our 2007 film. Any publicity is good publicity, as they say. Sorry it didn't live up to your expectations but I'm glad you thought my story/script was "kinda cool." P.S. I know you don't review non-horror films but if you'd like enjoy a good, low budget Indie I wrote and directed a few years ago, check out 'Fear, Love, and Agoraphobia' with a cameo by Lori Petty.

Thanks for commenting! Yea the story of Born was cool for sure so kudos for that! And despite what may be conceived as negativity, kudos to you for actually doing it! You're making art so that's amazing. More than most can say. I'll definitely check out your other film! Cheers!

@@jdshorrorreviews Hi JD. I didn't think you were negative at all. You did your job and shared your honest POV. And as you know we writers hand over the script and ultimately production turns it into what think will make for a good film so no offense taken by me, my friend. I'll give you a shout if I ever make a horror flick!

I love this movie, anything with scary art immediately catches my attention (like deep red), if you add the unsettling setting, the offbeat performances, that chilling scream at the beginning immediately sets the tone. It’s all so good, just unrelenting dread, I think my biggest issue is a bit of the lore dump at the end but anything besides that I love.

I don't know what to think about you 'cuz I watched this movie in the morning ,I passed few scenes and I still was traumatised ,but you said that you enjoy it 😅 I would be scared of you ,honestly . THIS MOVIE MADE ME ANGRY SO MUCH I WISHED THAT I COULD HAVE SOME POWERS AND THEN I WOULD FIND THAT MANIAC AND MAKE HIM SUFFER ,but first ,analitical as I am ,I would like to talk to him just to try to understand what makes him a monster. He has a backup story for sure ,I believe that every dark and twisted person has it. In some moment of their life ,they lost their souls in the dark and then they let some Demons in their bodies . This killer ,this guy who lost his humanity and his mind ,he enjoys to torture so I would like to know why . He is a beast ,a Demon ,that is clear ,but why ? I would like to hit him really hard ,to make him cry from pain and then to talk to me . Don't tell me he was born this way . Once ,he was just a kid ,a really young boy and then something happened . I would like to be a time traveler ,then I would find this boy who became so cruel and sadistic . I would stop him from going in the dark of his mind ,I would like that I could save his soul 'cuz one of my beliefs is that the cruel once are the children who went through a lot of torture and pain.

I loved this movie. It's just one of those movies that never really got the love it deserved. It had a really decent cast, too, especially in Lindy Booth and Jared Padalecki. We will have to agree to disagree on Truth or Dare. Cry Wolf and Darkness Falls and Dead Silence are three movies I feel people rarely respect, though Found them all to be incredibly enjoyable movies.
