Ik this is over a year old but I’m also nearly 3 months! My hair is soft as yours look & loose in the back but my roots and near the crown of my head is sooooo lose some of mine are only loc’d at the ends😭. Trying to be patient but not sure what methods to use so they don’t take forever to loc. I might try the locking method using the comb like tool.
@AilidyasTressesКүн бұрын
Congrats on your journey! It’s typical for the end to be locked and the root to be frizzy. If you have someone that does your hair ask if they can crochet the parts that aren’t locked. Also, doing a style after a retwist will help your locs stay in place so they won’t unravel. 😇

@@AilidyasTresses yess! That’s exactly what I told my stylist! Gonna crochet loser to the roots & try to get a style. Thank you ! ☺️

Hello! Why is it called locks and not twist?
@AilidyasTresses19 күн бұрын
They’re called locs because my intention behind the twists is to fully lock my hair. If you look on my channel you’ll see them transform into locs and the twists eventually disappear 😊

Yes washing helps promote the locking process. It also helps prevent product from getting caught in the loc during the early stages and help to eliminate the need for detoxification all the time.

I just got mine done like 3 days ago and the way she styled them is a middle part and I HATE IT. She said my hair has the perfect texture for the comb coils and that it was already holding but my hair right now is stiff and full of product stuck in this middle part. I’m about to wash them and hope for the best. I know it’s so so early but hopefully my 4c will interact with me perfectly

I ruined them 😪🤣 complete shrinkage is back and a lot of them came undone almost to the tips but the parts are still there which is all that really matters, so I’ve been retwisting them over the past couple of days, actually about to do more at this exact moment.
@AilidyasTresses6 ай бұрын
@@xraiynx you didn’t ruin them! since your locs are new unraveling is 100% normal and shrinkage is normal too. it’s all part of the journey. next time when you wash them try using a hair net. that can prevent unraveling :) do you know how many locs you have?

washing your locs is totally up to your discretion. however if i were in that position i would wash mine every two weeks, while keeping my scalp clean in between washes. you can take a towel with hot/warm water on it and use it to scrub your scalp. follow up with oil or scalp moisturizer

It was itchy likely *because* of excess oiling your locs. Everything you mentioned concerning characteristic changes, is the normal process of the loc journey. *Be aware that adding water, oil or any other product, too often (one a week should do) creates an increasing need to wash your hair/locs. Lastly, what you eat and drink matters greatly! Make sure you adopt a healthier lifestyle to help keep your locs hydrated; simply adding water ain’t it. Great video!
