Was trying this deck out today, and its rough for sure. 80% of the matches I played where against the Boros equipment deck and it stinks so hard

I just got into MTG recently since I am on break from school and this series literally helped me so much with learning the game and how to play decks. This was the deck that I had the most fun and did the best with instead of the top decks like arcane aggression and duel armory so it was nice to be able to go up against the top decks and fry my brain trying to control and outsmart them. Thank you so much for the videos as you came up when I tried to search for MTG tutorials and you're really helpful to learn the game while having fun so I look forward to more content from you man.

the hard part(only been playing 2 days but i’m already gold 1) is knowing all the cards…i want to upgrade my deck, but i don’t know what cards enable that

21:06 - Keep in mind this is STARTER deck duels, so the exact place for people to learn the very basics of the game, along with the basics / cards of the decks they're playing. If not here, where should we go, specially if we wanna receive free starter decks to build on? Tutorial --> Color Challenge --> Sparky Challenge --> Starter deck duels.. that's the advised route, isn't it? EDIT: I don't think they necessarily tilted and stalled the game / loss on purpose. Might be them reading and trying to understand the cards, maybe not even in their native language, and when they noticed the band it was too late. Happened to me before, and i only played 2 days by now. Sorry if i made anyone wait, though [also only happened once, will get disconnect only if it happens 2 times?]

Thanks for sharing the pitfalls that even someone who knows the optimization strategies can fall into. It's easy to preach about how to get the most out of the game without pumping money into it but it can be harder to resist shifting metas and cards you *think* you'll need.

As someone who just started playing MTG and picked up this deck at random, I was ready to quit. I was watching everyone else play to their decks' strengths meanwhile I was sitting here wondering what my deck was supposed to do. Good to know that it wasn't just me haha

Deck is sweet. Metallic rebuke is a tricky one sometimes. At 34:22 you missed a land drop proc off of your ingenious smith.

So I'm new to MTG (started playing only 3 days ago) and I hate this deck sooooooo much. My favorite starter deck is definitely Legions of Phyrexia. Also your videos are really helpful for a new player like me, thank you very much!

oddly enough, in starter deck duel this is the one deck that I consistently beat the overall stronger decks with, like RW, RU, BW, BU. I found that, with certain situations this deck often comes out just quick enough to barely stall the opponent before a quickening with legendaries or gargantua leaves you with plenty of damage and bodies on the board.

What is the 3,400 coins for?!!?!!? I got djabaited. I don’t see how to improve quickly with Quick Draft often times even on the first pull of the pack the highest rarity I’m offered is an uncommon. I’m lucky if one of the 3 packs has a mythic or a rare.

I'm blessed to have come across your channel. I was playing MTG Spellslingers, and since that game is being cancelled, I'm now shifting my focus on MTGA. I've finished my tutorials, used up all my jump in tokens, got all 10 starter decks and played a few ranked games. I have to say, these starter decks are truly now made equal. The white green token deck and the red white equipment deck easily snowball early game advantage and secure wins. This deck is just horrible, key cards are limited, deck perform too slow, and can hardly recover from an early game disadvantage. But hey, free cards, so the 5 losses in a row was probably worth it.

I knew something was up when I hit a 9 game losing streak with this deck xD I was milling, but constantly wondering what for because if I dont draw that one card I cant bring it back xD best card obv is the spider, delayed the impending doom for another turn; worst is whatever the finisher is in this deck because it is ass (cant get past 0/5 wall LOL) bad sorcery cards; takes 3 mana to kill when blue/red has a 2 mana 3 dam constantly puts you in a state of should I summon or use magic to kill because either way I am behind oh and where is magic when you need it; of course it is in the GY from the mill LOL

Verrrry unreliable deck, I don’t understand the mindset behind throwing useless blue and one power double strike cards when you have the potential to add sorcery and tempo cards, all your opponent has to do is destroy your main sources of tempo or damage with boom spells

Interesting to see your viewpoint, I had found the most success with this deck, and after some tinkering it got me all the way into platinum with almost no effort, I was having an 80% win rate. Now that I’m in plat though it’s about 50/50 and I was trying to find some help on how to improve it. Botanical brawler NEEDS to be a 4 card, it is instrumental to this deck working well.

Just discovered this channel and I’ve been binging this series a bit haha I think it would be really interesting from a new player’s perspective to see some looses too, just to know how being in a losing position or having a bad hand feels like for these decks and doing the most out of the little you have to try to make a comeback.

This is the best deck of the bunch in my opinion. I changed some cards to make it more aggresive and interactive and carried me to gold in standard. Having said that i think you could have played a little bit better but you won anyways so who cares

I went up to Mythic in historic about a month after downloading the game without knowing this. Rakdos sac deck with Juri, Ashnod's altar and Animation module one-shot infinite combo. I have now moved my deck into a sort of midrange control using tutors to pull Urabrask's Forge and Grave Pact into the battlefield. I don't know how it will do in the historic event but I hope it does well

You like the bad decks and hate the average ones

It's astonishingly bad even when it's used correctly.

"better" standard decks requires at least 40-45 rares which will drain your wildcard since almost all of the are wasted on lands that are not really being used in historic or timeless (most esper lands) mono / dual colored decks can only get so far usually plateauing on platinum quick draft can be a hit or miss, sometimes you get 7 wins 3 times in a row sometimes you wiped out 2-4 wins no matter how good your deck is surefire way to use your gold if you are starting is to just buy packs from store, it would take longer time but you negate variance compared to doing quickdraft or joining paid events
