You neglected to mention that the A/C units were installed at the top of the windows in the one apartment. How are the tenants supposed to easily turn the units on & off unless they’re 6” feet tall?

My daughter from MA just moved SoCal, earns $100k, pays $3500 she splits with a roommate, 2 beds, 2 baths, 1200sf, one is a master suite, gated community, 3 pools, gym, free classes, 2 miles from her office. NYC is tough unless you’re earning $150k.

There is NO place like NY, especially when you are young and adventurous. I was born in Brooklyn, raised in Northern VA, and Florida but as soon as I graduated, I went back to NY. Of course this was many years ago, but even now as a senior citizen I miss my favorite city. I do manage to make a pilgrimage back each year at Christmas time. Can't beat Manhattan at Christmas time! Enjoy.

Awesome tours and rating system. A couple suggestions: maybe take kitchen cabinet space into account in your in-unit amenities category? Apartment #1 had almost no cabinet space. It would be tough to store even the basics. I also think it would be helpful to include an outside-unit amenities category. I know many people don't necessarily care about gyms or even doormen, but elevators are something many people do consider. Having to walk up five flights to an apartment would definitely factor into any desirability rating for me!

So when you say “quintessentially New York,” what you really mean is a shoddy motel room that overlooks the dumpster and no maid service 😂. Now the New Yorkers are going to roast me.

Beautiful HOME but CONSIDERING the SIZE of the ROOMS, the SMALL closets AND the LACK luster FINISHES in the BATHROOMS, I would SAY that PENTHOUSE is WORTH 12-15 MILLION absolute MAX!!!

Great video and interview. The apartment was a really nice size for a studio. The only thing that I noticed that would be a concern for me was there was no deadbolt on the door. I loved Olivia's openness and honesty about the good, the bad, and the ugly about living in New York. I wonder if the construction crew knows they are the famous photo bombers now.....hahahaha. Thanks for another great video. Have a great week.

Thank you for your very nice tours of apartment/condos on the market there in New York. For me the second apartment and the last apartment are whst I like the most. The in unit washer & dryer amenities are the first items I look for in an apartment. Secondly, yes, transportation and where is it is the next important item for me. Yes, fir me here in Chicago, I lost the in unit washer & dryer character but the city bus stops right in front of building. And I am a block and a half away from one if the major grocery stores. And there is a cleaners store next door to my building. So, ypu win some and you have slightly give up some!!😅

I am from New York City. I have the money to live there, but lifestyle is critically important to me. I have 25 acres on a mountain top with an 80 mile view, deer in my yard daily and occasional bear shows up along with raccoons and a fox family. It’s beautiful. Everything I need is in a small city less than 20 minutes away on a beautiful mountain road. No traffic. No sirens. No neighbors. No crime. No concrete. I did all of this for less than $250,000 and zero maintenance fee. Taxes are 2,200 a year.

Hayley, your real estate videos are the best! Most other NYC realtor KZfaq videos omit crucial information like building amenities, subway access, neighborhood shopping, gyms, medical care options and veterinarians. Oh, and the rent cost! You offer a comprehensive look at available units within the context of their settings. Brava! 💐 PS: I’m with you when it comes to that last gorgeous apartment. I love my current home, but I’d leave it in a heartbeat if I could afford that unit. Those views! 😃

If you have 18 mill to burn, go to parkslope and you can use about 5 mill for a pre-war co-op that is just as big if not bigger with a better layout, better finishes and a well built building. If you want to up the ante, go to Brooklyn Heights and use maybe 8 mill for an even better apartment. That is just not worth 18 mill, especially with the crime wave hitting the upper west side.
