19:47 Angel most likely made the deal because Val manipulated him. You’ll see in episode 6 (minor spoiler ahead) when Val recruits new porn actors, he talks them up. Coupled with his status and false promises (fame, riches, all that stuff), he could make any vulnerable person sign away their soul. Val also could’ve put Angel under influence with his pheromones. Valentino is a moth, so he secretes pheromones (as seen with his red spit). His saliva is actually used to make roofies (or “love potions”) and a billboard of Velvette’s Love Potions can be seen in the background during the fight at the end of the episode. This is also why the smoke he breaths from his cigarette pipe thing is red, and when he needs to put Angel back under, will blow it in Angel’s face. Valentino isn’t just Angel’s boss, he’s Angel’s pimp. Apparently stories like Angel’s are fairly common for those in the adult film industry, the abuse in this episode is raw and real to a lot of people.
