At PEAK galactic peace and prosperity they keep giving us a post galactic war apocalypse vibe. Everything is horribly maintained, uncleaned, trash everywhere Worse of all they did such with horrible storytelling, haphazard pacing, incompetent cohesion/transition between scenes, sloppy direction, without compelling and believable characters. There are animated, even stop-animation characters that have more coherent behaviors, and are more human than anything Disney, and most main studios, have produced in A LONG time! Is it too much to ask for fully realised characters, with skills that follow from their backgrounds, who contribute using these skills instead of a grab bag of convenient powers and narrative convenience? It is as good as a fan fiction self-fantasy written in the layover lounge of an airport. ~22.5 million an episode for Harvey Weinstein's personal assistant's extended therapy session about stocking his Casting Couch should at least exhibit more guilt and remorse with less entitlement and accountability avoidant blame. It doesn't help that we are ALL over deconstructionist BS masquerading as creativity, art or personality.

You know, I didn't care much about the part that people seem to be upset about. She mentions creating them in some way, which could mean anything, some kind of force-infused in-vitro fertilization or whatever. BUT the writing is very shallow and poorly done for this episode. The Jedi "thought the planet was uninhabited" but then are concerned the witches might be training children...Indara makes some vague half-reference to a legal issue...and what? Why can't the witches have or train children? Why is that illegal? Why does anyone even care about children being there? Why are the Jedi even ON THE PLANET if they thought it was uninhabited! Wtf is going on in this scene? Turns out that's unimportant, because it's not really a scene. It's a shell built to introduce a specific conflict, and the whole thing is an inch deep. Pieces of dialogue are just isolated sentences someone thought would sound good in that moment. They don't come from actual characters and have no cohesion with the rest of the story. For instance, that line in episode one about Jedi "not drawing a weapon unless they're prepared to kill." Wth? Someone really thought that was a good line, and they gave no heed as to how it would affect the entire Star Wars universe. Then, of course, Jedis pull lightsabers without killing people later and nothing is mentioned (such as in this episode when one is pulled to light a slightly dim passage). And why would you give a lightsaber to a child who shouldn't even know what it is? Would you hand them a loaded gun with no instructions? How is that a wise decision? It's like everything was written by half-baked children who never considered anything twice. Get the writers from Andor and just have them handle Star Wars. Or continue to create cliched nonsense that belongs to B-rated, low-budget shows on the old CW network.
