Never watched the Crown before but amazing scene. I was 18 when she died and hard not to wonder what she would have thought of all that happened after her passing.

I am sorry. It was painful but that hard March behind Princess 👸 Diana’s coffin ⚰️ was epic. It showed love ❤️and honor in ways words could never fully convey. If it didn’t matter then why does the World 🌎 remember it?

I so wish Diana could appear to Harry in the same fashion and counsel him. He would listen to her once he got past the fact she left him.

I keep thinking of her exchange with the youngest self. Yes, there's approval that she did her duty, but I think too that it is the younger self, the Elizabeth that might have been, forgiving the Queen for what she was denied, maybe acknowledging that the sacrifice had been worth it after all. Who else could give her that peace - did even Philip truly understand, though I think he understood better than everyone else. There's no part of this scene that I would change, though. The shifts of camera focus as Elizabeth thinks upon her other younger selves were genius, as was the fact that they are dressed in mourning and she is not. She was dressed to travel, one last time.

this scene brought tears to my eyes seeing her own coffin, a much younger version of herself remarking on what she had achieved throughout her reign, with two former years of herself she then takes the final journey to be with her beloved husband. I could watch this over and over again.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on the 2-year anniversary of my beloved mother's death. Mama was born in 1934 and had always respected Queen Elizabeth II's strength of character, so having Mama and the Queen share the same yahrzeit (death anniversary) of September 8th brings me comfort. I like to think of the two of them drinking tea together and having lively discussions.

In retrospect it certainly seems brutal to make two young boys walk behind their mother's coffin in such a public way But William has said it was a collective family decision, not forced. Harry has said it was the hardest thing he ever done but he doesn't regret it.
