Hey there, discovered your videos yesterday through the goblin video and I’ve gotta say, the detail and work you put into these minis are fantastic! It makes me want to take more time on my own minis, but I know I don’t have the patience, so I’ll live vicariously through your minis!

First time on your channel and I was pleasantly surprised! I've got a load of unpainted Moria Goblins a Cave troll to use in a future quest of the ring bearer campain, so this might come in handy.

I picked these up when Games Workshop did a Made to Order last year. They occasionally bring out old metals for a few limited weeks so I'm always keeping my eye out for some LOTR classics!

If you subscribe to their email list you'll get an email whenever they release new stuff. It's mostly stuff from GW's other games but every now and again they'll put out some Middle-Earth stuff.@@DanielGonzalez-tg7qg

Amazing tutorial! My first ever miniature I painted was that goblin with a spear that came in the first issue of the battle games in middle-earth magazine, over 20 years ago now. I followed GW's painting guide step by step, with the four basic colors that came with the issue: green for the skin, hair in black, brown for fabric and pole and... mythril silver for the armor (!!!) LOL the result was horrible but I still loved it and got totally hooked to the hobby.

Yeah, I actually bought another pack (which is why there's a lot more at the end then what I started with!) which was a lot better on the air bubbles, so definitely a hit or miss issue it seems.

These minis are probably my favourite from the range, they are so full of character ! By the way, any chance you could give the name of the manufacturer for those 2mm tufts, I find it pretty hard to come by (or is it just me ?)

Nice paintjob. I would have given every Uruk the white hand because the models are very dark.
@mini-earth7 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yeah it's always a debate whether to try and imitate the colours from the film that in the Orc's case can be quite dark, versus more colours to bring out the mini's details at the small scale. I thought about giving a few the white hand and may add some later on. I did a test on one of these and it turned out decemt.

Great job on this! I'm amazed by your accuracy on the staff and in-between the fingers on the palantir. It took me multiple attempts and touch ups to get the staff somewhat neatly painted 😂

Thanks! I will admit there was a little bit here and there where it needed tidying but for the most part it came out pretty accurately.

Wonderful paint job! Sarumon seems like a particularly difficult model to paint. I like how subtle you went with the palantir - how did you get it to be so glossy at the end?
@mini-earth9 ай бұрын
Thank you! I forgot to add in the video but I tried giving the Palantir a gloss varnish from Vallejo. It was an afterthought when I added it so completely forgot to mention it.

I really don’t like batch painting. It makes it seem more like a chore than a hobby I enjoy. If it takes me longer to finish the army then so be it. I’d rather enjoy the process of going over each one and trying to do better than the one I did before. Great job!!

Another fantastic video! I can't believe how quickly you picked it up again and dove right back in. Heck, 20 years ago contrast paints didn't even exist, but you're using it like a champ. It's almost weird to see someone painting with normal model paints and not doing the slap chop methods with contrast or speed paints!
@mini-earth9 ай бұрын
Haha thanks. Yeah there's a few different things I've seen people do that I'm sure to eventually try out. I've always been into creative type hobbies so that's kept me with an eye for detail I suppose, which helps I'm sure!
