Jason, I am delighted to hear you're back into doing comics. Might try getting Angel Studios in the conversation about what to do with a Sithrah production.

I understand the approach and I'm sorry to see people's harsh feedback, unfortunately nft was a pretty phenomenal shitshow that traumatized the art community quite a bit causing a lot of harm to a lot of people while making a few millionaires and con artist even a little richer. This is just my opinion, but I don't think NFT will ever come back in a big way, the basic concept which relies entirely on speculative games is very predatory and toxic and is doomed to attract an unmanageable amount of bad actors. I'd much rather buy a digital copy of your book than an NFT. I don't consume works of art for their value, I don't want to gamble with my money, I buy the work because I have respect for the artist and his work, or the art / story has caught my attention and I want to be able to admire it in its entirety. I buy it for my pleasure, not for the prospect of being able to resell it for more money to a bigger idiot later on.

Wow I think I have to go back to the drawing board I mean identifying anything interesting in the comics that you showcased here that you did it just seems so mediocre like it just seems like you're just making comics to make comics and that's an eye opener for me cuz I want to actually make a comic and I just make whatever I think or some idea that come into my mind into a comic it just seems like so cliche that every time you think of an idea to make a comment you have to actually have to do that but it just becomes that much more less interesting because you're not making a comic about something you're making a comic just to make a comic about something that you thought about rather than actually getting down to business and really making the comic that you should make rather than what you think you should make! Because you thought at that moment it would be cool or something and that you just wanted to get it out there!

I know some people consider what he's done and her personal views as controversial but I'm curious on your thoughts about Eric July, his Rippaverse brand and what's happening there as a company. While I'm looking forward to this series, at 52 my own artistic skill sucks as bad as it did in my 20s. I've just reached the limit of my skill I supposed. I have a number of ideas for stories I would love to tell though, so maybe through your videos I might be able to figure out how to do that.

hey man. cheating or not its a great time saver. all the big animation studios are using them even down to the characters. id suggest the to you given that you have to repeatedly have to draw them in almost every panel. pose the characters, apply the right perspective and draw your line art on top of them. you'll get it done in a fraction of the time. as long as your writing is on point this should work for you. because im telling you at some point ai will do all of this for you. but you have the unique ability to make a scene you're own signature feel. ive been considering actually revisiting my interest in comic art where I use 3d as a blockout and bringing them into my painting program and making the stuff that I wanna make. this is the reason why I even clicked on this video to see how others are utilizing it. my weakness has always been patience and perspective and until I personally address those flaws id like to be able to effectively visualize and create what I want without all the drastic corrections later on in the project.

The video begins with a defense for this technology but never really goes into details about it. What makes this more secure than other formats? Jason mentions that there is going to be exclusive content on this platform, but it just seems like artificial scarcity. It seems to me like a wasted effort when there are better alternative structures and systems that are less harmful to the environment and more secure for the consumer.
@GeoffMcCabe6 ай бұрын
Not all blockchains are "Bad for the environment" but people keep repeating this. Bitcoin and "proof of work" blockchains are the ones that some argue are bad for the environment. Macroverse digital collectibles are on Ethereum, which is a different type of blockchain that isn't burning down rainforests, or whatever it is you think it's doing.
@fotografick6 ай бұрын
@@GeoffMcCabe No need to be hostile, I just heard that was the case. Burning down rainforests? Why do you need to make a strawman argument? Try to be a little more reasonable. You didn't acknowledge any of my other statements.

Thanks for this walkthrough of a web3 onboarding. I'm very familiar with this myself but it's a good reminder of how complex this process can be for a beginner. We're still at a point where we need videos like this to explain how to join in. Hopefully all of this would be streamlined in the future. Jason I'm glad you are trying NFTs as a way of publishing your work. This tech has a lot of potential for digital ownership, interoperability, and new fun ways to interact with the audience. The Macroverse platform looks great and the reading experience panel by panel is nice too. I like that the mint includes several series that could be pushed later on. Not sure how it is done technically since NFTs are non mutable on Ethereum. I might come to the Discord to ask a few questions about that. 😉 The only thing is I'm personally not a huge fan of dapps on ETH because of the gas fees. I have been allergic to those ever since I played CryptoKitties back in the day. I did publish my webcomic with dReader on the Solana blockchain. It's been a great experience so far. It's nice having new readers discover my work this way. Anyway, sorry about my rant. I'm pretty passionate about that subject. Hope you keep it up Jason. 💪

I'm sorry man, but I just don't see it...Kudos for being open and trying new things, help out, and promote , that's always nice, unlike AI, in my opinion, NFTs are really past their prime, a lot of really popular and big ones are now basically gone, that's just beyond the ethical thing...speculation... I can't condemn that, being a part of the art world since the old days, I guess we'll wait and see where this goes, probably Eben is living in the year 3024 and we need to catch up.
@macroverse6 ай бұрын
Appreciate your POV. This is Eben and I do really see this clearly for where it's going (I believe) - The next generation of this tech (and certainly what we care about) is not the speculation get rich quick side but it's about fandom and storytelling and art and being able to do new things with fandom/comics/media etc. There's so much potential and we intend to build it. Thanks for watching.

These aren't "NFTs". They just happen to use the same technology as crap like Bored Apes and all that speculative casino-type nonsense. Non-Fungible Tokens are being used for gift cards, ticketing, real estate, and many things.
@fanaticist6 ай бұрын
NFTs are an amazing technology that solves a problem that artists have had with digital art for decades. now we can have and sell unique digital copies. little redditor cuckies conflate speculation with technology. maybe if they weren't clueless low test betas they'd've made money on crypto too, but crypto is not a "sprculation product." it's a technology and a great one. the regime doesn't like this uncontrollable and sometimes untraceable form of wealth, so it attacks it and small d betas supplicate the regime because followers always do what daddy says. if they wanted to end overconsumption of energy they'd ban video porn off the internet.
