People in the comments keep claiming they are ladybugs, but no. They are certainly lady beetles like she is telling people.. The pattern on their body is classic lady beetle. They are also directly on the parts of the plants that are eaten. The destroyed parts are also how lady beetles eat the plants. All signs point to lady beetles.

Squash beetles eat cucurbits like squash and pumpkins and cucumbers. They are orange instead of red
@bigmikethetall17 күн бұрын
Orange ladybugs are likely Asian lady beetles, also known as Japanese ladybugs or Harmonia axyridis. They can also be yellowish-orange or red, and have black spots on their backs. Asian lady beetles are about the same size as ladybugs, but have more black spots, around 19 compared to ladybugs' 11. They are also dome-shaped and hide their wings on their backs

Hey, but they look like ladybugs? Interesting, I may have had them in a plant out front. At some time the plant didn’t look so great, but I assumed “ladybugs” so “great” as it also seemed i had aphids. 🤔 how do you tell the difference (for city-dweller like me)

wood chips can drastically lower the pH, not sure what pH your soil is but might be a good thing to keep an eye one would be better to buy something like vermicompost or mushroom compost and keep on adding that to the bed after each grow you’ve done, and to start obviously although if it’s just for flowers it might be to much work 😄

@christian9540Ай бұрын
Its not that the flower thinks its job is done, it is that no nutrients are going into that part of the flower anymore. That is super common knowdlege. Every fruit plantage does that thing to cut down most branches and only leave a few that what is left gets a lot of nutrients and produce big and healthy fruits. If you cut down the almost dead flowers (fun fact, they are not dead yet, they just dont get enough nutrition that they look nice anymore), then the other parts gets the rest of the nutrients and bloom longer.
