Why don't you post video on Linkedin too? You can, it just doesn't have to be as long as your youtube videos. Have you tried?

What are your monthly running costs? I saw you mention Vercel in another reply. What do they charge to host? Any dns costs or ssl cert costs?

Auto-complete, auto-suggestion, code-analyzing, linting, error checking, jetbrains products are unmatched. Your vs-code extensions managed by one guy in the middle east will never be able to match it. Take Android Studio for example, it not only checks that your code is valid, but it can also check against minimum SDK and target SDK requirements, and let you know that your call may work on targeted SDKs but not in a lower range towards your minimum, and it can do much much more to help the developer than your average 'vscode' extension. Jetbrain products are rock solid. People who think vscode is superior either have potatoes for computers, or they're just youtube script kiddies copying and pasting tutorial video code. It's not an industry standard so much as it is the JVM of code editors, it downloads and runs on any pc, and as a code editor, it is 'light'.

Just get a job at google or something bro. The tech space is cut throat...stop coping. You seem smart but youre no entrepreneur. A pure entrepreneur knows that their startup has less to do with them and more to do with the world. Startups are meant to make navigating everyday life easier. A consequence of that is if yiur Startup makes things easier for a lot of people then it becomes the next drop box or airbnb. We should stop treating startups like tea shops😢

This is a story, about how you were not serious about any of these ideas and didn't do marketing. Just because your write some code, it doesn't matter. If you have a job, you can hire people to do marketing for you. In building a business code is the low value activity. It is the marketing that is the most important. Also you didn't focus on one product.

I think it's important to to have a variety of products that you sell. Sure, right now I'm building an info product rather than a proper tool but I'm also actively working a more proper saas tool to launch soon. Variety is the spice of life 🫡

We never used the native camera app. It's a third-party app. This cannel is misleading about the information of native camera vs a third-party camera developed by smartphone brand.

Could I ask if you've considered sponsoring other content creator to advertise for you and what the pros and cons were? You mentioned a few times that you didn't want to change your social media image to fit your product like with the interviewing tool but why not get people already in that space to promote it for you? That way you can create content around the development of the product (videos like this and also devlogs) and not the "5 tips to boost your resume" videos. Also great video, really enjoyed your perspective on this.

Hey guys , i got a question about what to include on my resume I made a python script to get song lyrics from the internet and display it in like a nice format, and for college / university made a loan management system where you get customers with IDs and they have loans with different types etc, with checks for if they are elgible for new loans and things like this Right now im also working on a game which is a but like space invaders but with powerups and hopefully when i learn a bit more (i just finished my first year , of a 3 year course) add in a ai computer to play against Would these be good resume projects ?

Hi, former VScode fanboy here… great video and great explanation on the differences, maybe you could’ve said what you switched to sooner. One tip though… yes JB IDEs vanilla are indeed quite ugly. However theres “material theme” plugin. Which makes the IDE the best looking IDE out there. It has free tier and paid, you are more than good with the free version but at 20€ per year the paid version is extremelly great value for money.

@YourAverageTechBro yeah no kidding. Wish you well with future products. Made a few with not much success over last few years myself. My next project is unmonetized but will help me and others create SaaS products faster. It's a SaaS specific boilerplate for Laravel and Vue stack so hopefully i can crank out products faster going forward haha

Docker + MySQL / PostgreSQL no ? To setup a VPS is so simple these days, it's cheaper and you have full control of your infastructure. It takes just under an hour, with Digital Ocean and most of these cloud providers, they also have OS templates for most backends, so you can just use the OS template, customize it and take a snapshot. Next time you need a new app, just build from the snapshot.

You know how to code, but you have to learn how to think like an entrepreneur. If a project goes wrong you have to know exactly what you did wrong. Otherwise you will keep having these terrible ideas. You cannot just say "I don't know why I stopped it" I am like "you made a mistake, either you didn't keep working on it or you have selected the wrong idea to work on." You have to take responsibility. Secondly, you have to stop persuing new shiny ideas. Give each idea a time that makes sense, a time that you can decide what exactly is wrong and why you can't grow it. Don't just dump it when it gets hard. Every project that you will work on will get hard at some point. Love you, take care.
