My beautiful daughter spent weeks making me one of these for mother's day. It is stunning.

In the video, I mistakenly said 365 pages instead of leaves. So the book has to be at least 730 pages to allow one leaf (page 1 and 2) for day 1. My apologies and hope I didn't confuse anyone! Thank you! Wish I could add the info to the video.

Thank you! So much easier. If you have some strips cut and ready to go, would take 15 seconds a day!

Do you just put one color strip per day?
@CraftedSweetly

Yes. One color that corresponds to the high temperature for the day based on the temperature chart included with the color sets

How do you get such a tall photo that is tall enough for the front and the top? My photos are either square or rectangular. Thanks.

I’m a crafter that likes to try all new things. I heard about this craft while going to garage sales. One of the homeowners was selling some crafting supplies & we got to talking & this is how I started searching for this on KZfaq. I also have a Cricut & read your comments and saw someone had asked you about it. Have you figured out how to make it work using a Cricut? Also, when using your Fotobookart website it asks for the last odd page. What about the extra pages in the front & back of the book; do we include those pages? Do you also have where you can also do the top of the pages in your website program? Looking to do a book for an 85th birthday celebration coming up mid July so wanting to get this going. I found a book at one of the garage sales titled Happy Birthday by Danielle Steel in mint condition and going to put a pic of her family on it! Thank you!

That's awesome! Glad you found my videos! I thought about it some more after that viewer suggested it, and I think it would take longer for the Cricut to cut it than me cutting it with my Cutterpillar. Plus, I would be concerned about lifting the strips off the sticky mat as they could curl, tear, etc. It's just faster by hand overall. Additional pages at the front or back, can be added to the total count, which is what I do because I like to use up all the pages. For the top of the book, it's the same program; the top would just be another pattern - I have a video for front/top design. I have videos on about every topic. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

This is lovely - I have to try this. I wonder if instead of folding the page of the book at the spine end, would it be possible to just cut the pattern on a 45 degree angle at the place where the color meets up with the gray background before it is applied to the book? There would be no gray showing on the book top when completed. That way the design would just be lying on the page and would be the same look without the dimensional look without the cutting of the book page at the spine area.
@CraftedSweetly
@CraftedSweetly 11 күн бұрын
Yes, that would certainly work! It just wouldn't have the dimension, but you can contour around the image.

Thank you for a very informative video! I have been using 28# paper. I have a few patterns that are landscape oriented and will probably stay with 28# to help with the wider image. The next portrait sized image I do, I will probably try 24#.
@CraftedSweetly
@CraftedSweetly 11 күн бұрын
Yes, they both work well. As I had mentioned, I used the 28# for a long time and actually find it a bit easier to fold.

If you used the higher GSM paper and used a bone folder would that cause the front line of the image to crack slightly because of the paper thickness … Hope that makes sense … Luv your videos they are always so helpful

So, we're you explaining for a 600 page book? For a 300 page book I would think you would want 150 strips, which you mentioned at the beginning of the video. Thst was the only thing I was confused about.

I would like to order your product; however, I have an Incra Ruler but I'm confused about your statement, "With Incra Ruler you will use the in-between measure or round this up." Why? Please kindly clarify so I understand before I purchase. Thanks so much.
@CraftedSweetly
@CraftedSweetly 25 күн бұрын
I think you're referring to 2 decimal point patterns. With the incra ruler, you can do 2 decimal points patterns or you would have to round the numbers before marking the book.
