Climbers and creepers and vines are interesting. Butterfly pea is a very fast growing climber, inches everyday. Two plants can be trained into a shady dome arbour.

Another great video! Your begonias are amazing and I can’t wait to see your zinnias; I love them!! My variegated hydrangea that I ordered arrived and is starting to blooms as well, which is all thanks to you! I never would have known they existed had it not been for you and it is such a pretty plant, even without the blooms. This was fun so watch and I eagerly look forward to your full hydrangea tour!

Greeting's from Ireland, Great video and Beautiful front garden. My wife has no interest in gardening and has told me the small front garden looks like a mini garden centre. We have fifty eight pots and four flower bed's in it. We have a bigger back garden with grass for the dog's to play in, a glasshouse and no dig veg bed's. I tell my wife that gardening for me is my church it's where I heal my hurts.

Hello and welcome Ireland.👋 What a beautiful description of your garden. A place where you heal your hurts. I believe many of us fellow gardeners agree. It definitely is for me. It has truly become a place for peace. Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment. My father was charting his family tree before he passed. Going to Ireland was an important part of that. He never made it. I hope to make that trip someday. May your upcoming weekend be filled with lots of gardening. 🌸🌿

A lot of good information, but I have to say you have the most beautiful hair , never looks mess up don't know how you do it , I had a handkerchief around my head has a head band to keep the sweet out of my eyes yesterday and it was soaking week here in Kentucky and just 92 but the humidity was a killer day
@birdhousegarden8 күн бұрын
Thank you.😊 Oh, you should’ve seen me the other night filling in the newly raised bed. It was 9:30pm, and with my hair tied up there was sweat running into my eyes. I visited Louisville many years ago and it was so green. It must be because Kentucky receives lots of rain and is humid. Our heat will be here soon. We don’t have the humidity though.🌸🌿

Gosh, this just refreshed my soul. I love your style and plant choices; you have a lot of my favorites like the plumbago, artemisia and fountain grass. Thanks for sharing the fruits of your hard work. You have a real knack for gardening. It seems more often than not I have to move plants around whether from a design perspective or for the plant's needs.
@birdhousegarden11 күн бұрын
Thank you.😊 Oh my goodness, truth be told, I have moved many plants as well for the same reasons as you.🤣 Thank you for watching.

@@birdhousegarden 😊 you mentioned that in this video, I'm sorry I wasn't clear that I appreciated YOU talking about sun, shade and water needs😊and having to move plants but that you've been adapting as you have learned your yard. I saw that you had made this video almost 2 years ago but I commented like you uploaded it this morning. 😊

I've just discovered your channel and I cannot get enough. binging on your beautiful yard. I left a garden somewhat like yours and starting over in Florida...ugh...it's HOT here and I'm in a zone 9...humid and I have a rainy season and hurricanes but you are giving me great ideas!! Also I love your encouragement to try things and hit the clearance rack...
@birdhousegarden14 күн бұрын
Thank you for such a nice compliment.😊 I’ve not had to deal with humidity or hurricanes. I can’t imagine. I’ve read that Florida has more of the fine sand beaches, which sounds beautiful. I’ve embraced clearance plants for two reasons. You can take a risk on a plant without a large price tag as well as picking up plants you have experience with for a fraction of the cost.🙌

The redwoods will eventually eat your driveway and sidewalk. Also, they are planted waaaay too close to each other. Best practices are 15-20 feet apart, and as far away from any infrastructure as you can get. Their root systems tend to be as wide as the tree is tall, so in 20 years when they are 100 feet tall….well you will have figured out that they need to go long before that.
@birdhousegarden16 күн бұрын
Oh how I know.🥴 If someday we can financially swing it….. and still live here, they will be removed and replaced with a more appropriate shade tree. 🌳
