A blast from the past! All of you were not the Average in the Average White Band! I loved all your music….hated that the band split up. I can understand going out on your own…teaching and mentoring…and being the best!!

Hamish you had one of the most amazing unique voices in RnB. I'm sorry brother but it's time you let it rest. I hate having to say it . This new band is tight ! The sax player is off the chain 👏👏👏 . Thank you Hamish for all the memories. I'll never forget you.

You are right but let him do his thing, he's getting old and we must accept that this voice is losing a bit....
@MsNamder17 күн бұрын
In my opinion, partnering with McCarthy did not allow Hamish to keep his vocal cords “exercised” or fine tuned to its fullest and rich power as he had while singing with AWB. He needed to keep at that range throughout his singing career to sound the same. It’s like any other instrument, got to keep practicing and rehearsing at that level to stay strong. A lot of OG singers still got range because they kept up up with their true strength and potential as magnificent musicians/singers.

Allen doesn't like hearing people say that, I got that from a horses mouth who I can't tell say. I was told not to talk about Hamish Stuart when I met Allen when I was at the Jazz cafa in England. I seriously pissed him off. I saw him a year later in Louisville while I was visiting my hometown, he would not speak to me. I made him so mad in England.

Just back from a wonderful gig at the Blue Lamp in Aberdeen tonight ... early days, but definitely in the running to be gig of the year (and I go to a lot of gigs) ... superb show ... bought the studio CD tonight but would love a professional recording of a live set like tonight's (maybe the audio phone recording will have a reasonable sound - I hope so) ... Great musicianship all round ... mix of influences AWB, Steely Dan, Doobie Bothers, Chaka Khan ... majestic mix ...

It's good to see Hamish singing this song. Saw them back in the late '70s live performing this, no one and I mean no one can sound like Hamiah Stuart singing this song.
