Pella has good interior shades. Either fabric or metal. You can just add a storm window to any normal window and put the shade in between the 2nd and 3rd pane. Great for bathrooms. They sound expensive until you price blinds/drapes.😊 Only about a hundred a window for the blind. The storm window usually cost more than the blind.

Go EV go broke. Electricity rates are going to sky rocket once a certain percentage of EV's is reached making them just as costly or more costly than ICE vehicles to operate.

Interesting how you made absolutely no comments regarding the facts that were referenced in this video. You didn't say, that part was interesting and that part I don't agree with. You didn't say, don't forget that if electricity costs rise at a disprportionate rate as compared to diesel costs, then this is would change the future potential savings presented in the video. I am not a truck owner, but I learned a good deal about the pollution created by this type of transport trucks. Is avoiding this level of pollution of value to things that depend on air in order to live? You don't say much of anything. Your comment is nonsensical as stated, meaning it has no sense for anyone other than you. Thanks to Victoria EV Association for sticking to peer reviewed facts with this presentation. I will be looking forward to the next one.

Whatever advantage FCV might have right now will be lost after 10 years more in battery improvements. Not sure there is a single advantage even now as your video clearly demonstrates.

As a significant investor I want to see EBITDA positive financials and hence less talk, excuses and more sales execution. Corporate liquidity is getting uncomfortable, and time is ticking as we are losing are first mover advantage. That said what's going on with Mitsubishi HC and possible development of Agriculture segment and has that been explored? Mitsubishi HC is a monster company in the AG and Industrial sector and one can only assume the partnership is more than just a financing partner. In closing Lion Electric needs to seriously execute what they have in the sales book now or consider a sale to return shareholder value and protect jobs.

Saanich has to know that public praise and media attention from VicEVA is among the highest compliments that could be bestowed on a municipality with respect to climate change mitigation efforts. Saanich certainly is a world leader in its efforts to support low to no carbon transportation. Considering that transportation emissions make up a third to a half of the carbon footprint of Vancouver Islanders and that driving an EV in BC will cradle-to-grave emit 75% less carbon than a gas-fuelled car, a city that commits to supporting the transition to electrifying transportation is clearly on the right track. Full EV adoption will in fact alone bring a city into compliance with the 2015 Paris Climate Accord’s call to reduce emissions 30% by 2030. Decarbonizing transportation also greatly reduces the huge healthcare burden of air pollution, let alone also noise pollution. And why not drive our cars with fuel made sustainably here in BC: hydro power? This saves billions of dollars that otherwise would leave BC to fund oil exploration and refining. Keeping this money in circulation in BC will significantly boost our local economies. EVs are a win, win, win.

It would have been a better debate if you had someone actually advocating for hydrogen. I could not follow the majority of his Matthew’s points. I agree hydrogen is DOA for most land transport, simply too inefficient which makes it too expensive. It ain’t gonna happen.

What chase didn’t say about Edison Motors is after they start manufacturing some trucks they are going to develop electric retrofit kits for other trucks. Think of an electric tow truck that uses its diesel motor as a level 4 fast charger, not only for itself but also for a EV that died on the side of the road.

Banks don't need an investment in a truck company to greenwash their previous investments, because the oil and gas industry will happily do projects such as hydrogen production and carbon capture. They can also invest in proven wind and solar power projects. A hybrid truck is not what they need to look green... especially one burning diesel and doing logging.
@brianb-p65869 ай бұрын
Built by a team in a bay isn't all that unusual for low-volume production, and makes sense. But it's not quite what Edison has been doing (as Chace suggested @10:10), because those production vehicles are built with proper tooling for efficiency, consistency, and safety. While I agree that Edison doesn't need an assembly line, it is very far short of being ready for production comparable to those established companies. Yes, build a few trucks for a few pilot development projects, but get set up properly before even trying to build those.
@brianb-p65869 ай бұрын
The pilot approach (the first five or six customers) is sound.
@brianb-p65869 ай бұрын
The power assist on the steering of the Edison prototype is electrohydraulic, not fully electric (as described @5:27). It works the same way as many cars with systems designed early in this century: an electric motor drives a pump for an otherwise conventional hydraulically assisted steering box; my current car has this, too. In this truck there are actually two of steering gear units, in a master and slave configuration, as is sometimes used with very high front axle loads and large front tires. There's nothing wrong with electrohydraulic, and it's even a good feature from the standpoint of maintenance and parts availability, but the description is not accurate.
@brianb-p65869 ай бұрын
It's more than a little misleading to suggest the "Carl" (Edison's blue truck) is a logging truck, or tested (@2:02). The claimed (@2:32) 50% fuel consumption reduction with that truck is meaningless, since it isn't under working conditions. It can't haul anything, because the drivetrain is inadequate; Chace has explained in their videos that the driveline snaps under heavy load, and the Tesla car motor can't withstand sustained high power without overheating (because a car only needs that power for a few seconds at a time to accelerate). The truck they got into - with the custom cab - is a serious prototype, with very different components. When it is tested, then there will be meaningful data.

Banks don't take unnecessary risk with what is at the end of the day...other peoples money. The Bank of Canada is already losing Canadians money because of foolish ESG like 'investing'. It's naïve to think ongoing businesses invest to lose money. No one works a daily job to lose money. It's foolish to try to justify EV when it ends up costing way more since the end increases get passed onto consumers. Even the Canadian Government sucks at making Common Sense investments, because it's not their money...that they end up losing.
