For those that don't know, you swim parallel to the shore to get out. If you are tired just relax, theres nothing wrong with floating out a bit and enjoying the view while you catch your breath

Stay calm and swim along the coast line, like swim sideways instead of directly back to shore.

My friend did not know about rip current and drowned last week. If he just knew this, relax - save your energy. If you have lots of energy swim 90 degrees to the current. But most important stay calm, lower your pulse. Try to float... never try to fight the current...

Well, the best thing to do if you ever get get a tide just keep your body still you will find yourself at another part of the ocean land and then from there you can swim back

Swim parrallel to the shore. Never try to fight it. It pull you away, but moving perpindicular to the current, you can escape it and get to shore
