Kolanut contains nicotine and is eaten as an enhancer. It's also a medicinal and traditional nut used and celebrated for occasions by Easterners

@shorn, why use a foreign guy on your thumbnail? When did Nigeria become so poor that it's only foreigners that are the occupants of the rich areas? That's really low

That is called COLANUT. That's the inspiration behind COCA COLA and PEPSI COLA. The bitter is like a simulant. It makes some people high. The other one, that is small packed in nylon is called TIGERNUT. Very good in Man power etc.

Tafewa Balewa Square is a ceremonial ground for many events in Lagos. When Lagos was still the capital city, it held the ceremony for Nigeria's independence. It was also used for horse racing, hence why you see the horses on the entrance. It is also used for some other sports like cricket. But like a lot of colonial/old structures in Lagos, this too is also not maintained well.

There are numerous distinct financial areas in Lagos. Among these are V.i, Ikoyi, which is a residential area but still contains a few F.Ds, CMS, and the new city Eko Atlantic City. Consider how developed Victoria Island would be if all of these segregated financial areas were concentrated there.

Why the heck do you have a European male in front of a luxury car as your thumbnail for a video on wealth in AFRICA? You Kenyans are something else. So in other words your perception of wealth is pale skinned with blonde hair and blue eyes? It is no wonder you Kenyan women go crazy for Mzungus mxm. You could have placed a thumb nail of a dark skinned guy considering it’s an African country but that didn’t even occur to you because you automatically see Europeans as the epitome of wealth Mxm

Very informative video. Why are human dwellings called huts instead of houses, on The Continent? Should we also call human groups on The Continent ethnic groups, instead of tribes? Should respect of us, which really matters, begin with us? Does it matter that we free our minds, entirely, on The Continent and The Diaspora? Very informative video.

Difference between Eko Atlantic City and Eko Hotels is that Eko Atlantic is a new neighbourhood achieved by reclaiming land from the sea. Eko Hotels is a large hotel complex that had loads of hotel buidings (hence the Hotels, not Hotel), with each trying to target the different stratospheres of the affluence class from Upper Middle Class to Internationally wealthy. Some of the buildings in the complex are where Foreign Presidents, Executives and the likes of Beyonce would book when in Lagos. While other buildings are for close-to-normal affluent people who can afford some luxury (e.g. a Nigerian working in the US/UK/Germany/Canada and earning $100K per year and coming to Nigeria on holiday). The Eko Hotels complex is about 800 metres away from Eko Atlantic City. They are not on the same site. They both have "Eko" in their names because (1) "Eko" is the local name for Lagos; Lagos was the name the Whites gave it when visiting before colonialism, and (2) Both estates [i.e. Eko Atlantic and Eko Hotels] are majorly owned by the same investors (the Chagourys and Lagos State government). The buildings (i.e. 2 white and orange towers) you asked about at 4.45 is owned by the owners of Eko Hotel, but is not part of Eko Hotels complex. They built it as serviced apartments and rented the entire building to Total Oil Nigeria, who put some of their big staff (especially expatriates) there. Victoria Island is mostly a Business and Night Entertainment District with very few residential apartments in it (as a matter of fact, if you do see some, you will virtually only see posh flats to rent, not houses). Ikoyi is mostly a residential district with some businesses in the vicinity (and these tend to be very affluent and posh businesses). Ikoyi is where you can get houses and mansions to live in. As for kolanut, no it is not sweet! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 It is Nigerian version of coffee. It is eaten to get the effects caffeine gives.
