Is there a speed regulator on the foot pedal of the Janome Atelier 7
@AmyQuilts7 күн бұрын
No there isn't. Only Janomes to have stitch regulator compatibility is the CM17, M8 and 9480
@donlyons8520Ай бұрын
Your machine is moving at a regular pace, is there a setting on the machine to set that pace or is it just foot control on the pedal.

Why use the thread color that doesn’t show very well on this section on tension? I love what I can see, but why not accent the contrast?

Hi can you tell me where is the bobbin sensor? Thanks.
@AmyQuiltsАй бұрын
It depends on the model. Your average machine won't have a bobbin level sensor. Janome has 2 different types. The first is mechanical and uses that little silver arm you are seeing on this bobbin holder for just part of it. The arm is often also on machines that don't have the sensor. The Continental series uses an optical sensor.

Wish you would’ve explained better or shown a clearer photo of where you put the needle after you come out of the fold. Did you enter the fold on one end, come out the other end of fold and then go thru back? or just one end of fold then the backing? It wasn’t really clear. Do you go just above or just below the line of machine stitching when go thru back? Go a lot slower too. you only showed like two or three stitches then switched to whip stitch.

Use a longer needle, just tie to the loop from the front and push the needle through a portion of the stuffy and pull. Trim any thread tails

My janome mc6650 does the same thing, but it's clean and there's no lint in there at all. I broke a needle but none of it landed inside. The tip was stuck in the thread and the rest was still in it's position. I removed it all gave it a clean, a small drop of oil in the wick and now it's making the rubbing sound. I purchased a new bobbin case thinking it might be that but it still makes the noise. When I remove the case it doesn't make the sound. Was it the oil? I'm confused!
@AmyQuilts3 ай бұрын
The oil isn't the problem unless you over-oiled (oil didn't get absorbed). I wonder if the hook was damaged when the needle broke. I suggest taking it in to your dealer.

Well done. I do about a thousand sewing machine repairs/svc/year. The bobbin case clearance bracket (at 5 o'clock) is very easy to mangle and people do mangle it often. If that is damaged the machine won't work. I stopped selling oil to my customers. They were doing a lot of damage with it.

Which needle plate do you use with this foot?
@AmyQuilts3 ай бұрын
Officially, the straight stitch plate. However, most of the time when I'm quilting I still have the zigzag plate on. If you have a super thin batting, I would definitely switch to the straight stitch plate.

My main problem is that my screw comes loose as I sew with the templates. It is fine with regular sewing, it only loosens with the ruler work foot.
@AmyQuilts5 ай бұрын
Hmmm....I'm going to suggest that you watch and see if you are pushing too hard on the foot with the ruler. If you aren't using a screwdriver to tighten the screw, definitely start to do so.

My thread breaks after doing just a few stitches of FMQ with the PD-H foot. Only after I removed the bobbin holder then replaced it along with the bobbin I was able to FMQ. I am using the blue dot bobbin so I am unclear as to why resetting the bobbin holder would make a difference.

I have always wondered why that little straight notch was on my bobbins. I am almost positive that my manual (mc 10k) didn't mention lining that up with the wire. I stumbled upon this video because I was having issues with my bobbins winding slightly unevenly and now I'm wondering if that was why. I was trying to adjust the bobbin winding thread tension screw to fix it. Thank you for that detailed explanation!
