Only issue with this commentary is that finch doesn’t introduce himself rule 101 of commentaries lol.

shame no decent directors in US. TOS made on a fraction of the budget was better than this. $200k instead of $12.5M.
@jacquelinekemp40748 күн бұрын
shame no other director wanted this. Roddenberry specifically didn't want ST to be militiristic or based on navy. totally wrong, massively offensive & egotistical & disrespectful to Trek foundations. Kirk was the leading man & far from old at 49, look at Bond. your an absolute disgrace.

Brilliant; there are so many layers to this. It helps that the media plays along by pretending that they’re a real band.

This one's my favorite of the three too. I kinda think it IS full of 'overacting', but I love it for that. It's stylistic, like everyone's a cartoon version of what they're supposed to represent. The mad scientist, the power hungry military man. Sarah being probably the only exception. I also didn't see the scientist-military tension as being the central theme so much as the falling apart of the social fabric under dire circumstances. How a social dynamic is reduced to brute power politics in the absence of leadership and cooperation.

Came for Buuraid Rahneir, left when I found out it's that Alien jerk doing the movie with that sappy pontificating robot ending. /As is probably obvious, I couldn't be more kidding but the truth is this movie was an acquired taste. Like a fair number of people at the time it was released, I saw Harrison Ford in Sci-Fi movie when Star wars was fresh in everyone's minds and somehow felt bait and switched with unexpected noir and a bad guy that gets the upper hand by monologuing like no other bad guy at the end. Of course it's brilliant for what it is, and it's become a treasured favorite after a few viewings. Hey Carpenters The Thing wasn't well received either at the time. Different reasons for not liking it, but hey us old folks don't always get it the first time around.

I’ve listened to most of John Carpenter’s commentaries and usually he does them with a cast or crew member. This one, where he’s solo, is great. Tons of technical nuggets and introspection from him.

Nah, it’s just an audio commentary, it is playing while the movie is also playing, so what we are seeing is the film. These uploads don’t have the film showing to avoid copy right issues.

Me gustó muchísimo.
