You're not the only one. I don't think they check their work. I've received engines that I have had to tap bellhousing bolt threads after installing the engine, oil level sensors that don't work, and cylinder heads that are warped. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Respectfully expressing names for various components such as "this" & "that" does not really help me as a basic mechanic who is still learning to be able to understand what exactly the hell is going on here!! Consequently I felt that I didn't exactly learn a lot from this video & therefore I'm looking for a more intuitive teaching aid. It's only straight & to the point if you already know what the hell you are doing!! (yeah right) & If you do know that, you'll hardly need the services of this video to merely asist you to do this reasonably basic job!!

If the stock rotors last up to 40k-80k miles I think changing them as often as you do pads is wayyyy overkill. Great video though🫡

This is fake, doing a radiator or something, mind you those v6 filters are right next to the exhaust at an odd angle, but I used to do those in 15 min at a quick change, the burns are part of the job lol

Here’s a trick use water to cool off the exhaust manifold that way you can get your hands in there to change it what I do is i get it loose with filter pliers then I use my index and thumb to spin it off the rest off the way and then I let it fall off then secure the new one hand tight hope this helps

Dude you need to find a new job man. You don't need to ever work on another car again. Actually you probably dont even need to be driving a car. I was a GM master tech, I have never seen anyone have to do that for a oil filter. Yes those filters are a pain because of the location but that's why we have tools man.

You are in the wrong business. Literally never touch a car again. The oil filter cannot possibly be why the car is torn apart that much to access. No manufacturer makes them like that.
@mageofthestorm1
@mageofthestorm1 11 ай бұрын
@@Saiko8096 did you notice the oil filter was dropped through a hole to the bottom? That is your access point. That is not New for suv, and pickups to have tight access points. If you are the person in this video. Please find a different job. You will never make money working on cars. Anyone ever seeing this will never want you working on thier car. It's a fact.

Thank you! The 13 and 8 are referring to bolts? Can anyone clarify?
@fowvee
@fowvee 6 ай бұрын
The reference is to the "nuts" that hold the wires to the starter. The 8mm is for the small wire ("S" terminal) and the 13mm is for the big red wire ("B" terminal). When the vehicle is new the nut that is on the big wire will be 12mm so if you're removing an originally installed starter then you need a 12mm socket. If you're replacing an aftermarket starter then the nut will be 13mm. I don't know why they do this but even the replacement starters from the dealership will use a 13mm nut on the rebuilt units. It is very important that you ALWAYS remove the negative battery terminal before working on the starter or the alternator.
