Great video! I was able to remove the interior trim pieces without removing the 2nd row seat. Also, at the 14 minute mark, after removing the clip on top, using PB Blaster, and lots of hammering, the pin still wouldn't budge. For those who are struggling with removing the pin, just remove the two 12mm bolts that secure the hinge to the sliding door and remove the entire hinge/door trolley from the track. This was a lot easier than trying to hammer out the pin. Thanks again! Hopefully this repair will last awhile!

Almost always when I remove the side panel that covers the sliding door track, the bracket that the panel screws in to at the front of the panel comes off. This is a small piece that is tack welded to the top of the track, and the welds routinely rust out. A little bit of JB Weld will hold it back in place.

That piece just failed on my stepson 2010 Acura TSX, now it’s 11pm and parts stores are closed and amazon is a 2 days out on shipping. For mean while I had a handful of them plastic push buttons that hold your plastics/ fender liners together, I just took some dykes and snip the plastic down short and boom it’s holding it down so the brake lights don’t constantly stay on.. fits perfectly in the bracket hole 🕳️ thanks for the vid

It has worked for me right up until the end where the door needs to be reset from the control right after a battery disconnect. Tore it all apart and while the cables were off i noticed the motor would run until one way or the other consistent with the door opening and closing. Put it all back together this time opening the door and waiting for the motor to stop, then disabled the door. Put it back together with the same problem. The door will not respond to the controls after a reset. Put it in drive and it beeps so it knows the door is out of calibration. At this point i am stuck.

I hope a pro wouldn't clean a battery like that. I take a shop vac, suck up any loose corrosion after removing the cables, take the battery out, submerge the battery terminals in the baking soda/water solution in a plastic container then use a rag dipped in baking soda/water solution to clean the top of the battery. You're inviting problems just pouring the solution over the battery while it's still in the vehicle.

I spent many years as a pro, did everything in a pro way, and charged people pro prices. At the same time, I’ve been cleaning corroded batteries in my personal vehicles using this method for 40 years without a single issue (my dad did it this way many decades before teaching me). This channel is focused on helping DYIers fix their cars and save lots of $$$ using tried and tested methods. Thanks for visiting.

A lot of slurry was created by the baking soda and water mix and it overflowed the battery tray a bit. I rinsed with fresh water inside the engine compartment area that it dripped into. Is this an issue?
@YOUCanFixAnythingAuto
@YOUCanFixAnythingAuto 29 күн бұрын
Great question! No, it will not be an issue. It’s always a good practice to get the solution and dissolved acid rinsed out, but a small amount of the solution residue will not be a problem.

The first thing I thought you'd do when you removed the airbox was to cover the open throttle body, to prevent anything from falling into it. I would also recommend that you brush and blow off, or vacuum off, the valve cover prior to removing any of the spark plug coils, again, to prevent any debris from falling into the spark plug wells. And, as you commented, it's also a good time to clean the throttle body, and the MAF sensor.

Is it also the same for a P1174 code? My 2012 Honda Odyssey EX has this code when I run OBD but there is no Engine Light. Could you please suggest if your solution works for P1174 as well?
@YOUCanFixAnythingAuto
@YOUCanFixAnythingAuto Ай бұрын
It may be. the P1171 and P1174 are “soft” codes, meaning that when the sensor returns to normal readings, the code is stored, but the engine lights goes off. I suggest removing the rubber intake hose and inspect it for holes. If you find any, it needs to be replaced. It may be a good idea to have a replacement on hand, just in case you damage the old one during disassembly.

You are the man! Incredibly thankful for this video. I replaced the passenger side, and like a commenter below I discovered that on the passenger side the cables are wound around the spool in the opposite direction (the front cable winds around the back of the spool). Enormous headaches on the passenger side due to a massive air-handling unit that blocks the rear cable exit. I couldn't figure out how to remove it completely. I was able to loosen the unit enough to work around it and only lost one bolt to the void in the process.
