I nailed my components to a piece of plywood and put it a picture frame around it ... works pretty good but under heavy gaming the plywood catches on fire ... ehh cant have everything I guess

For when you don’t have the time and don’t want to mess it up. Puget does a great job, I bought one in 2017 and it’s more reliable than the 2 mod PC’s I did after.

It's fine if there's no next project. All good things come to an end. But does that mean they're not going to continue to support their current products? BIOS updates, warranty support, etc.?

EVERY motherboard should have a simple display to show error codes, or a speaker for the same purpose. Its so helpful and it has to only cost pennies Id imagine.

So sad I didn't get into high end consumer PCs until this past year. It's weird i'm sad a company I never used is throwing in the towel for now. I see that these guys are actually normal people who want the best for their customers. I have a feeling this is going to let the big MOBO manufacturers get lazier with stuff Edit: changed lazy to lazier

Sadly because these two are no longer with EVGA the very pricy Z690 and Z790 mobo are without BIOS upgrade support and can't even properly run 14th gen Intel CPUs they should be compatible with! EVGA is flopping majorly, very disappointing state of affairs.

Why did I find it hilarious that Steve knew that "cow" was slang for "cool" in Chinese? Probably because my dad says the same thing all the time. There's a more vulgar variation, niubi, that translates to "cow va**na". (The More You Know, right?) It's so vulgar that my parents won't even allow me to say it. 😂

I have checked out their Z790 ProArtCreator board build and their power level settings and they sound great,,, but Great$$$ too for the parts, But I heard there are some issues with the ProArt Creator Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. Any more input on that? let me know how that TB4 worked out and their build in general. Thanks.

Hi Steve et al. commenting here as there is no contact us on your new and improved website (looks awesome not being obnoxious). do you have a rough idea when you will start fan testing and will you be testing with radiators? I'm going to be rebuilding my computer in a lian li evo xl with 3 420 radiators (I know it is pointless I am a nerd with to much money and its my hobby). given the price of fans I really want info on 1.) how much I actually need to care 2.) what is the best reversable 140 mm fan for a 56 mm hardware labs black ice 420 mm radiator (if you want a suggestion for what to test on :) ). Love the content and that you put eastern NC (Well kind of as you are triangle not east of I 95) on the nerd map.

Their markups are insane. Got quoted 3700 on 1500 dollars in hardware. Sourcing the same exact parts. Fucking predatory.

While doing stock is great, you could use a higher wattage CPU and squeeze it on a passive system with some undervolting. That's if you need extra power on another project.

I’ve had serious problems with my Puget quad 2080ti build ever since I got it it’s been bsod doc watchdog errors for years we’ve gone back and fourth for that entire time trying to solve it and once I said it’s time to fix its components they said oh look you’re out of warranty send it to us so you can pay for new parts

[off-topic] but just saying there are shampoos and other products that reverse grey hair.. I found it by accident. Basically you need supermarket hand sanitizer that has ethanol, Vitamin E, and Aloe Vera... your greys will turn into browns on the fly :) Doesnt work with white hair, you need to pull those out and regrow back into brown.

I'd really love to see GN review one of Puget's "Serenity" computers at some point. Back around 2012, the Puget did a SPCR (silentpcreview) special edition of their Serenity Pro. It had a i7 3770k and an Asus GTX 670 DirectCU II (which was the quietest stock 670 at the time) if memory serves. When running Prime95 and Furmark, it ran at just 17 dBA. There was also a Sandy Bridge edition that had a 2700k and a GPU that I can't remember, that ran at jsut 15 dBA under Prime95 and Furmark. I lusted after those systems!.... I'd love to see how Puget's current offering stack up, what with the huge power draws / TDPs that modern GPUs and some CPUs have.

Something doesn't make sense here. Puget Systems sell many systems like Steve's. I would think other people would have seen this issue too. What does he mean by "overheating" Throttling? Or actually shutting down? I would think he at least checked that all the fans were actually spinning

IDK man, those prices look absolutely batshit insane. Probably wouldn't recommend to consumers, maybe if you've got serious money to spend, but at that point go boutique/buy the parts and hire someone to build it for you.

There's nothing wrong with buying a computer from someone else even if you know how to build them yourself. Sometimes you learn things about the way other people build or choose parts.

I would love to see a proper review of Puget. I like them but find it hard to fully recommend them because of there case and cooler choice for higher end hardware. I suspect they want a "business" look and will give up performance to get that look. For what they charge I would like to see at least a more ventilated case and a bigger cooler. What I would find super cool and would make there pre-built attractive to me is if they used custom ducts in conjunction with a better ventilated case and bigger cooler.
