"Never go through life saying you should have. If you wanna do something, do it." I took that to heart. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail, but at least I tried.

I pray that America wakes up from the political divide they have yoked us to before things get even more intractable. We are all being manipulated and lied to by the 1%. Whoever you are and whatever you believe, I accept you as kin though we might not agree on everything. People need to start building bridges where we can

I had a friend who lived in Manhattan on a boat. His parents were part of the fleet, he said they had dozens of people onboard, his mom giving people soda, water, juice- anything to provide a slight amount of comfort.

Unsung Heroes of that day that have never been recognized for all they did. So many people dont know the story of all the boats that rescued people that day.

I had no idea this ever took place. I watch every documentary I find about 9/11 and this is never part of the story. What a shame! These beautiful people should have been recognized for their heroism from day 1.

I watch this video almost every year since highschool. I’m not sure why but some times I just feel the need too. To be reminded of the good that any normal person can achieve. To be reminded what it means so be human. I’m not sure but Ik we must all feel the same inside. Everyone wants to be a hero.

THIS is what it means to be an American! The fact that so many people UNITED to rescue the citizens of Manhattan just gives me goosebumps! This is what we need now!

That's exactly right. No preferred boarding lines or judgement of people beyond just what they needed. America was greatest when Americans were greatest, and this is a relatively recent example. The everyday heroisms of Americans during WW2 as well. America only seems to want to come together or act heroically when it's facing an existential threat... but I don't see the same thing happening for internal threats unfortunately. We are being devided internally too though, because those in power want us to see our own kin as the enemy. We fight and they win

found a few books on this event. probably the only time I am willingly choosing to read a book about 9/11. Boat life and Gander are the only aspects of 9/11 that I can really handle nowdays.

“So other may live” is the coast guards slogan/motto and it’s amazing the respect the maritime community has for the CG and it’s shown when so many boats respond to a single radio call requesting help.

I like the stories, but the music and editing is too dramatic, it’s almost comedic Like you don’t need sound effects to show how chaotic and dramatic the situation was.

As tragic & horrible as that day was, we all came together as Americans. It didn't matter what class, race, age or anything that anyone was. We were one. Now I see kids who weren't old enough or weren't born yet to remember 9/11. They're taught to hate America & Americans. They think if you don't have a college degree, you're insignificant. I never want to go through another day like that. But I do wish the young people, who seem to just want to protest whatever cause is in vogue that day, could really understand what we felt, saw & cried for.
