Right now I am in the middle of the process to do the same to my 2002 E150. Actually I wonder why you soldered the connectors in the wheel, from my research all that needs to be done is to solder the old connector to the vehicle circuits (E150) at the end of the clockspring cable of the Navigator according to the wire colors. Brown and white / light blue wire will be left over as they are for HVAC and audio controls. In my case both wires go into an aftermarket unit (PAC Audio CP2) to adapt the resistive steering wheel controls for an aftermarket stereo unit (Pioneer). The orange and teal wire on my E150 was a secondary negative ground (for whatever reason), the Navigator clockspring combined all negative grounds from the wheel in one black wire. So I will not use the orange / teal wire any more, if my van acts up I will just put it to ground negative at the chassis under the steering wheel. For better looks I gave the Navigator wheel a makeover: I sanded the wood and got it recoated with clearcoat (at a high quality paintshop) and had the leather replaced, after more than 20years the wheel looked a bit worn.

Uh, driver side PCV Valve stuck in engine 2001 ford expedition 4.6L clamp pliers will not work to insert inside black plastic tube of PCV Valve to yank it out. What do I need to extract that PCV Valve? I am afraid it is going to break off cause it will not even rotate, maybe I need some hot steam applied to help to loosen it up. HELP ME IF YOU CAN.

I used a ratcheting wrench for the heat shield, and I used a 12mm 12-point socket on the U-Joint bolts. You can alternatively also use a regular combo wrench for the u-joint bolts. I was not able to use a ratcheting wrench on this, and ended up using extensions and my 12pt socket to get that one out.

Please think about getting a stand for your camera. When you're right up on top of your shots it's kind of hard to figure out where you are exactly. Imagine putting a video camera an inch away from your thigh and trying to figure out what part of your body that is. That's the effect some of your shots have for me.

I started getting the "P0174: Lean Sensor Bank 2" code on my 1999 Ford Expedition 4.6L XLT (177K Miles) after zero codes the entire spring/summer. I wasn't able to drive more than a block before it would re-appear so we changed the O2 Sensors for Bank 2 (Drivers Side Back/Front). That got rid of the code for about 2 weeks. I started getting the same P0174 code again and have been trying to pinpoint it, since the O2 Sensors didn't do it I went to AutoZone and grabbed this PCV Valve Part # PCV1183DL... Same as one in video as they said they didn't have any "PCV397" available but this was it. It was an easy replacement, I drove around for a bit but not long enough to see if the code will re-appear, I'm crossing my fingers this helps... I have a bad feeling it's something else as I do not get the common P0171 Code (Lean Sensor Bank 1) code as both codes generally appear together... so process of elimination. If this does not do the trick I'll move onto the MAF Sensor, EGR Valve, etc.. Really want to get a smoke test done. But I could tell this new valve was in better shape, not only that but it's metal and not 100% plastic like the original... Lets hope it works!

Can't you just unclip the hooks and pop the cover off? The hose is pretty flexible and you don't need to lift it that high to get the old one out.

GE man. In the middle of the swap. A navigator to a 2001 excursion. Did you have 2 solid ue wires from the navigator steering wheel and one from your harness that you are soidering to the wheel. If so how do you handle that. Not the blue and red wires.

Was getting tired of the raggedy looking stereo wheel in my truck and just came across this video. Was an easy swap

2 days later, the job is done. Instead of drilling the rivets out, I ground them down. Also, I didn’t remove the window from the black brackets, I just removed the nuts and proceeded that way. Did everything backwards, and voila, all done. Thanks again.
