A good deal why these movies worked was the quartet of Barbossa master tactician, Jack the trickster, Will honorable and Elizabeth longing for adventure they all had their motivation and played well off each other

The one great failure in media based around pirates is that so many times they try to set someone up as king. I guarantee you that if anyone had stepped up and tried to declare themselves king of all pirates, they would have been hung, drawn, and quartered by every pirate in the world. It is the literal antithesis to what being a pirate was all about.

Kinda hurts because it’s like having a pitbull (Kraken) for example and your pitbull only listen to you and attacks who you want it to attack but then one day a police office name (Beckett) tells you to put it down or else you go to jail/prison (Jones heart being threatened), so then you have no choice but to put down your baby. Even though the Kraken and Jones were evil in a way, you can’t help but feel sorry.
