Remember before they started pushing the narrative that no women were ever starring in movies. Remember when we just watched movies like this because they were amazing.

Faludi is so weak on making her argument and needs a man to help guide her through her argument. Paglia, on the other hand, is a true feminist who understands the strengths and weaknesses of each sex. Love Camille

I hear Hudson is the most realistic of the Marines. But then again why wouldnt he be? You find out youre not the only life out there, and then you find out these creatures arent like any bugs youve ever fought. They think. Theyre smart. They can come from anywhere and everywhere. Damn near your whole crew is dead, your most experienced member is gone, youre left with 4 others from your crew and 3 civilians. One with more mettle but still. I think because we've seen so many horror and alien flicks we tend to forget that in that moment those people are probably thinking "Holy shit! Its a fucking alien and its coming to kill me!" I wont speak for veterans and actual soldiers, because i imagine their mindsets work on a different level than my dumbass, but still, youre only human. And lord knows what would happen if we really did meet aliens that wanted to murder us and harvest us.

Most movies could do without the annoying loudmouth, but Aliens wouldn’t be as good without the annoying loudmouth. I guess in this case, you couldn’t blame him, you know you would be the same way in that situation.

I thinks that the film holds up better nearly 40 years later than their vapid, shortsighted review. It amazes me looking at this years later how “full of themselves” Siskel and Elbert are, while accusing Sting of the same.

To all those people that keep saying that Ripley is normal and average: She is phisically pretty strong (she's taller than most of the military men there and she can bring Newt in her arm, all the while running and shooting with a flame thrower in the other). She is intelligent and super fast in her learning and she's really good at problem solving. Plus she has the benefit to have really good mechanical and technical skills. Let's not forget that she even has the mental strength and cunning of a natural born leader, in fact most of the time she IS NOT terrified at all and prefer to put up some plan giving specific orders to everyone. Definetely not the average person AT ALL.

“Why don’t you put her in charge?” The delivery of that line is so great, it’s actually incredible, and reminds me of all the terrible bad acting we see now, due to the proliferation of so many streaming services and shows, that talent is spread out and diluted.

This was my favorite film as a kid and then later in college I studied this film to study extensively and in-depth for a class. This is probably my favorite scene. Hudson’s panicking while drenched in cold sweat, eyes constantly scanning the room for answers. Only to be put in check-NOT BY HIS COMMANDING OFFICER- but by Ellen, who is remaining calculated and focused, this is the scene her character really changes into the leadership role

The best part about Hudson is that from certain clips you might guess he was a coward, but the character more than held his own in multiple situations.
@jediprettyboy5 ай бұрын
He’s afraid, but not a coward. He just needs to vent which prevents him from being a good leader, but he’s still a good soldier. He’s just the type of guy who needs proper leadership to guide him. Ultimately, he’ll do the right thing.
