Midfielder is playing behind the forwards. There's 2 or 3 of them, depending on the team: football teams can freely choose how to place their 10 fielders - only the goalie's position is set, because he has to have a different outfit, so the ref can see, who has the right to grab the ball in his hands - which is of course only the goalie. Often they show the placement as jerseys placed on the field in the beginning of the game: check some game highlights or international tournaments, or some league or cup finals, like the Champions league. That's the best level of football: the best European teams from many countries compete of the trophy. European teams gather best players from all around the world.
