As a kid, I joined my father twice to visit St. Regis’s logging operation in WA and a smaller mill’s in Maine. He was the companies’ banker at First National City Bank, so he got the royal treatment (and his spoiled kid, too). I never looked at a piece of paper or lumber the same way again afterwards. It’s valuable to see the supply chain and all the people, skills and machines that go into it. We met a lot of people who were missing fingers!

Not sure how they got the cross grain sheets in place. I worked in plywood mills on the Fraser River BC almost 60 years ago for Weldwood.

Just imagine how much a sheet of plywood would cost if we didn't use robotics. Absolutely no machines like so many people in America cry about. How the robots are taking our jobs and all that bullshit. These same people would NEVER line up to do these jobs. Just like most Americans would never line up to pick vegetables in a field in the hot sun all day. They just love to complain about jobs supposedly being taken yet are not willing to do those jobs in the first place. It's all about fear with them. They're scared into thinking their jobs are being taken, even though they won't do those jobs, so these corporations hire immigrants and illegal aliens to do the jobs many Americans cry about are being stolen but are not willing to do themselves.
