Thank you, I appreciate the encouragement. the coasters are an easy beginner project I just cut them from a 4x4. you can find bowed 4x4s in the clearance bin at home depot for 80% off because they don't have to be straight for coasters.

Hey body thank you for the information about woodwork and selling on online platform lile etsy. I have a request about what we can do of palets. Maybe for selling or using it for own but I am ardent about making stuff of palets.
@jascogoods11 сағат бұрын
You are welcome and Thank you for the comment. There are so many small things you can make from pallets. Especially if you can find a way to personalize them like with a wood burner or something like that. Maybe I will do a video on things you can make from pallets soon.

I supported myself and my three sons doing woodworking projects and simple crafts in the 80s ~ and I started with a basic miter box, jigsaw, and plain old sandpaper. I ended up building not only a small workshop, but all of the storage I needed, an incredible amount of shelves and furniture, but over time added the high end saws and equipment I needed to keep going. Anyone that complains because you show them basic projects but higher end tools is looking for excuses. Use your kitchen table, a scrap table in the backyard/your carport, or a spare room/attic room/the basement and do the work to get started!! This entitled attitude that you graduate high school or college and should be able to afford a million dollar home with all the furnishings is ridiculous.

Don't see any advantage to having the bottom protrude, easier to cover it with the drawer front, hold it 1/4 above the bottom for clearance. You need a vix bit to install hinges properly. Hinges should never used on the face, no more difficult to put them on the back or edge where they belong. Please do not sing or hum,
@jascogoods11 сағат бұрын
Thank you for all the advice, Its appreciated. I never heard of a vix bit or maybe I just didn't know they were called that. Ill have to google them.

So it's only okay to steal the idea if you're improve upon it? Lol But it's a fair discussion point because Is it basically just the wild West on Etsy with Kraft items that no one can really get a patent on?
@jascogoods11 сағат бұрын
It is like the wild west, great analogy. I guess it is a matter of opinion to a certain degree on what is copying someone. I didn't invent mountains and I am sure someone has to have made wood mountains like did before. Just like there are hundreds of different t-shirts or how many restaurants have a hamburger. I just didn't like when people were making the almost exact same mountains, putting them in the same set of 3 and taking the same pictures and using the same title. then lowering their price to out sell me.

Yu are the kind of wood working expert. I’ve been looking for! I stumbled across your channel by accident-you are great at making stuff and entertaining and instructing! I remember Garbage Pail Kids-but I was the mom who got her kids Worms and Dirt candy. Remember that? Ground up Oreo like cookie dirt and gummy worms at the bottom of the cup. It was a classic that didn’t last long enough.

You could always just drill them from the top and let them be exposed. cut them flush and sand them. I actually almost did that because I like the look of the contrasting dowels.

You should have just unbolted the top cross member from the cart and the box would fit no problem no sanding no cutting. But i get it, sometimes the brain just doesn't think outside the box (that you're building) or maybe the cart is welded together lol. Anyway, keep that in mind should you ever decide to remove the box from the cart. Also remember this rule of thumb whenever you build anything that resembles a box, (even if you think your wood is flat, it isn't), find which way the bow of each member goes, and face it towards the inside. Would have prevented your drawer slide issue as well as having to shave them off with the table saw. I did enjoy the video and appreciate the sense of humor. /dirt off your shoulders
@jascogoods12 сағат бұрын
Thank you, that is good advice about the bows, I'll definitely try that. as far as the cart, its all welded. I bought it at a yard sale from a guy that was a welder. He made it from scratch.
