If I'm not mistaken and I could be, but doesn't the equipment have to have a means of disconnect for service?
@PPG19672 күн бұрын
Are you referring to the a/c condenser?
@BurkeAviator2 күн бұрын
@PPG1967 I believe the heat pump itself under NEC 440.14. But actually I see now, because it's using a plug to a receptacle, that serves as a means of disconnect. Under 440.14, if it uses a plug to a receptacle, you don't need a separate disconnect. It's an exception to that code. So nvm me lol
@PPG19672 күн бұрын
That heat pump has a disconnect mounted in the attic. That GFCI outlet was just a service outlet required by NEC. It must be within 25' of the mechanical equipment.
@BurkeAviator2 күн бұрын
@PPG1967 Ah, right. I was thinking they just used a plug for the heat pump. I forgot about the service outlet, don't do much residential lol

I think the people that work on the NEC have to justify their jobs by making changes, otherwise the people that pay them would ask what are we paying you for. Like afci’s, has there really been an independent study to prove they provide that much more safety ? 90 percent of the houses in the US have magnetic type breakers ( some still have knob and tube), and guess what, they’re not burning down left and right. I’m sure they are not forcing those on people just because they cost 10 times more than the ones we’ve been using for decades, and no politicians received any kickbacks for forcing home owners to use them.

I'm a builder. I would never install any foam board on exterior walls of a house. Because of expansion and contraction. I only use Rockwall on the exterior wall. Even Rockwall insulation will shrink over time. In another word, rigid board is best on the interior wall..😢😢😢 basement, garage, attic, etc.

I'm sorry, what does expansion and contraction have to do with not using spray foam?.... this is a great product.

Love your vids. Thank you for this. In the SF Bay Area, $600,000 gets you a studio apt with crack dealers and homeless outside. You can move further away and get a house where you will hear gunshots. A house like that here would be $2 mil plus.

Hi sir, i need help in installing dwv. Specifically for soil stack. It's a 3 storey concrete building. 1. Is it better to install outside or inside? Embedded to wall or just beside it? 2. Is it better to embed it to an CHB wall? Or outside the wall just beside it? And if it's embedded? Where going to embed it to an beam or column right? So the vertical pipe will bend to the beam and bend again embeding it to the wall? Is going to have like an 2 45 deg. Bend on a beam?
