I don’t think it’s an issue but a lot of corporations go for lowest common denominator in that viewing of representation. Take it as this you can have White Black Latino Asian representation because they’re the main percentage of America, you can give quirks like being multi racial like Afro Latino because they can hit a two in one. But like natives are harder because they’re not a block as those main 4 are. It’s how you can explain a trans gay or lesbian characters you’re gonna have a fire storm that can be put into public by a bi character because typically most Americans are one sides style people. Just look how people made a storm with bayonetta ending up being a mother and husband. It’s nothing like in Canada because they’re more a block of natives there. Plus it’s low risk to not have a native character because of activist groups

I enjoyed it. I had nitpicks but I also always thought the series as a whole was a bit weak sauce, but I like the general overall story. Same with seasons 4 and 5. I see it as setup, which I don't mind only because the seasons are super short. In hindsight, I am noticing that the first 3 seasons did a lot more in that amount of time while these 2 seasons makes it feel like it would take 6 seasons to accomplish the same things. I'm not quite as upset by it overall. idk.

Made in Abyss has such a good story. It's honestly such a shame that all the pedo shit has ruined it Like I would've had a WAY better time if it weren't nearly as distracting as it was. No Game No Life (the anime bc I never read the light novel) had a better time even though it introduced Shiro with a panty shot. If Made in Abyss was released during that time, I wouldve been out new Boku no Pico, I'm sure of it.

Subbed, all they had to do, was follow the storyline from the OG series, they could change how the characters get to their destination, character growth etc, but not the end results of it, they could've put 3 episodes of the OG series in each of the Netflix episodes and it'd total out to the same length, they were lazy, and just didn't care about being true to the spirit of the show, Azula is supposed to be extremely intelligent, the best of anyone else who comes up against her, witty, fierce, competent, terrifying, yet calm and collected, and extremely good in hand to hand combat, as well as tactical planning, my favorite antagonist next to Ozai in the series and this show ruined her. 😞

Man I love the art style, world and characters of MiA. But the story is a hot mess. The more I watched the second season the more I realized the author just wants as much tragedy and shock value as possible, whether or not it makes good story telling. Some of the plot choices regarding Irumyuui, the "babies", the village and Faputa's revenge just make absolutely no sense. And the whole sub plot of Nanachi and Mitty no. 2 was entirely pointless. Mitty just conveniently disappears when we need to move the story along. Of course it's all written to be as emotional as possible. Sad for the sake of being sad. I want to keep up with the series to find out what happens when they reach the bottom but it's really alienated me from the characters. It's hard to care about them when you know the writing is just pushing for reactions. Of course all this goes without taking the author and the controversies into consideration. The anime is one thing but the manga definitely is a worse offender. The authors actions outside of the manga/show make it hard to ignore the red flags.

The narrative is character, so I think it makes sense for the first half to focus on just expressing and fleshing the characters. The main plot progression, really, is Akko's character development. It's a Chosen One narrative is one where you have to grow into the descriptor, and your journey is basically complete once you fit the role

Majikaja does not possess faputa, like he said at the start his body is made of gas, what he wad doing at the end there was feeding himself to Faputa like the other hallows did.

I actually appreciated that Nanachi had to free Mitty again. It makes the story feel real: bad things can happen twice and assures me that the author will not hold back on the experiences the characters have even if it isn't suiting to a regular 'story'.

The first three seasons were quite good. Seasons 4 and 5 were rather middle class to bad. In general, I don't like when conflicts only consist of characters being too stupid to use their powers or not being able to think logically. For this series being called "The Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos", we see very little of Dragon Prince or Aaravos. They introduce the new animal character Stella with her portal magic, but then Stella only uses her portal magic 3 times or so. Although, there would have been much more opportunity to use this ability. I would have rather seen Zym become a proper main character and part of the hero group. But the dragon prince is basically just a big blue dog with wings who can't even fly. That's what always bothers me about all dragon stories, that dragons are just reduced to exotic animals and not as main characters. We also see very little of Aaravos in the two seasons. For being the big brilliant villain, he's achieved virtually nothing. I also didn't understand the whole Aaravos prison being divided between the archdragons. Basically, you only need one piece of this secret to find the prison. I also don't understand why the location of the prison is marked with two gigantic stone statues of star elves.

omg I’m living for that odin’s beard nitpick cause that was me the whole series with all the mythological and timeline stuff, like how they supposedly start off in ancient Egypt but the arthurian characters and story are supposed to happen way closer to modern times than ancient Egypt. ofc there’s already issues with stakes and pacing but the way the show uses other cultures made it just feel like set dressing, with even the main steampunk setting feeling so inconsequential to the plot.

This feels like watching Gennedys personal journal and mind in action. The art, ideas and concepts are intresting but the structure of the writing is a little lacking.

I suspect Teri is an agent of our favorite Star Elf. He's powerful, seems to have a good morale compass but is A okay with all of Clauds horrorible actions. I think Aaravos placed him there to maked sure the mission is completed and to help keep Clauds mind together as she dives deeper into dark magic
