I read all of the comments on here and everyone has good points to make. I live in Columbus Ohio and have attended the Good Guy's show every year, including this year. When I started going it was a Hot Rod and Custom show. Over the past years it started to become more of a muscle car show. With over 5000 cars in attendance, there are still plenty of Hot Rods and Customs to look at but every year there are more and more muscle cars, and now the whole pick up truck thing is popular so there are tons of sixties and seventies trucks now. 3 years ago I discovered the Frog Follies car show in Evansville Indiana. It is a huge pre war 1948 and older only car show. It is now the show that I look forward to each year. I will be there this year as well. The show reminds me of what the Good Guy's shows used to be like. The prices are cheap for entry and food and the venue is great. I suggest anyone who is into the Ol' School cars to check it out!!

Back in the day The cutofff was 72 and newer, which pissed off the Streetrod crowd because NSRA was 48 and older and they left Columbus and Goodguys came in allowing Muscle Cars. Now the Muscle car guys are bitching about the even newer Junk being allowed in. That being said I'm semi ok with muscle cars being there but its just getting STUPID now. People who aren't really car people can now bring their dumb shit that nobody wants to see. Cars like 85 Lincoln Continental stock, early 90s Toyota pickup again stock, 85 Fieros etc. Just because you can get a classic car tag for 25 years and older doesn't mean you have a "classic car " that anyone wants to see. This is just going to get worse sadly. All of us who are into OG Hotrods have had enough. Sadly NSRA is doing the same B.S. The amount of time money enginuity etc. put into real Hotrods, Custom Cars (and yes even muscle cars) deserves to be respected and not disgraced by brand new cars and crap that is considered classic now. Same thing with the music. No Rap or 80s music etc. Before you judge me as a car snob or music snob understand that I like all kinds of cars and music from many eras. I also like imports as well. That being said there is a place for everything and Goodguys isn't the place for alot of this crap. They are going to absolutely destroy it. I'm 49 myself but was raised by an OG Hot Rodder who taught me well. Dad has a Steel 32 ford w mountains of work done to it. I myself am about to aquire a Beautiful Model A coupe. Stop destroying The Hotrod Classic car community these cars deserve a place by themselves for people to enjoy. Goodguys will self destruct because of Greed and Stupidity. Very Sad !

Heartland Nationals in Des Moines had over 5000 cars this year. Granted there were some newer vehicles mixed in, but Saturdays turnout was amazing. So not sure if location is an issue, or what else it made it so much larger here in the Midwest.

After the unfortunate death of Gary Meadors who was president and creator of Goodguys his son Mark has a different vision then his father. I felt the impact to the shows immediately at Gary's passing and still attended almost every event annually until it just wasn't the same. It's a unfortunate because these shows were the best time & best car's anywhere.

There's a decline in 60-70s muscle car shows across the nation. The demographic is aging to the point of dying off and unfortunately the car shows are declining. The baby boom kids in their 40s are the only thing keeping car show scene alive. I went to the Kool April Nights show in Redding this year and the average age had to be 70. There's ZERO younger generation showing up. For obvious reasons, who has $30k to get into a muscle car as a young kid. The days of $2500 Chevells and Novas when we grew up are gone.

Do I need to support the engine when I remove the lower motor mount?
@LifeatSpeed

No, the lower mount is actually and anti roll mount. The engine weight is mostly supported by what is known as the 4th mount which is located in the frame rail.

Great Collection and nice video. I bought my 458 Italia last December, no problem so far and I even tracked the car a couple of times. I think where I live I'm kinda lucky for an oil change, official dealer charges me 350$ (including filter and labor) . I recently installed an antigravity battery 60h, H6 group 48, along with a bluetooth battery tracker. I do have other fast cars, but 458 is simply brilliant, I'm also a biker, and the 458 sometimes gives me the same feeling to drive a fast bike. Sound is supreme, and driving response too. I wish anyone could at least try it once. In Italy for example they do rent it for like an hour, next to Maranello with 400/500$

That's fair and understandable. Life has gotten in the way with a company change, birth of my daughter, a couple other vehicle purchases, not to mention a new direction for this project that ballooned the budget for it. The reality is I am still likely a couple years away from being able to give this project the attention it deserves.

FF cars. Bult two. Parts dont line up. Panels have huge gaps. What looks good on paper doesn't fit together during the build. Almost every single part that I attached to the next part had to be ground down, redrilled, heated and bent. I had to cut lots of stuff apart and reweld it. The whole front clip is supposed to be supported by the little screws in the blinkers via brackets that dont line up. Its a very sloppy kit. But they do a ton of advertising and a lot of fancy footwork when it comes to describing their product you can get it to work but work is what you should be prepared to do and you will get frustrated

Have to remember vipers were made in ultra low production numbers so most of us NEVER saw a viper in person never mind drove one growing up hence they were more of a magical beast that had very little connection with the real population. This is reflective in the current market. It was always my dream car but few of us grew up with one. I'm near Santa Rosa and appreciate your channel! Thank you for the content.

I've owned 10+ fox mustangs and they are not worth anything near the prices right now, a car that handles like a school bus, can't stop to save it's life and has 225 hp? But there's a cult following around them because of the age demographic we all grew up with them and finding a clean fox that's not been crashed is rare.

Let me share my story. My mom helped me get my dream car. It was 1 of 70. I flew to Las Vegas and drove two hours north to get it. The drive home was around 34 hours long done non-stop. About 9 months into owning it my mother fell, became bed bound and the cost of nursing care was immense. I sold off everything I could including my TV. Then I had to sell the car that my mom and I worked together on to get. She was furious with me, demanded that I not spend money on her care and get the car back. The people at work asked me why I would do this knowing the sentimental attachment I had to the car and her involvement. My response was “I can always get another car, but I only have one mother”. I moved mountains to make sure my mother was taken care of and she passed away peacefully in her sleep as I went to meet a friend for breakfast. Soon after I decided I am going to get a fun car again. I found great cars even ones better than what I had but they were not the car mom and I found together. One night at work I got an outrageous idea that I asked my friends advice on. I asked if they thought it would be OK to contact the new owner and ask him to sell the car back to me. I got a resounding “absolutely.” I texted him on Wednesday, he said he would let me know on Thursday. He replied YES and the price is $1,000 less than I sold it to him for and that included the expensive car cover he bought for it and the $150 dollar oil change he just did. He was out of town until Monday so I arranged everything with the bank on Friday. He picked me up at 10 AM on Monday and we were off to the bank. I got him back home by 11:30 AM. He just had to renew the license because it was at the one year mark, he gave me the still valid inspection and I was off to the DMV. By 12:45 PM the car was back in my name AND I was able to reuse the original personal plates as they were still valid. In short I got my car back in basically two days. After clearing moms affairs with the lawyer and moving funds around I paid the car off in 2.5 weeks. I believe in a higher power. I also believe my mother is with that higher power. I have no doubts in my mind that the two of them got together and decided to bless me with that car and to ensure it was mine forever. I am astounded by the speed in which it all happened and that a stranger gave me back my car. Side note, the value of my car went up $5K and he could have easily asked for more but he didn’t. He just paid to get the license renewed one week prior. I hope that some of you that have been heavy handed with the family’s decision to sell the car can understand that a car is not more important than family. They got over a million dollars for that car and I am willing to bet that Dodge gave them a new Black Ghost just for the advertisement potential. Plus I am sure they got some royalties for the story and their participation in the sendoff of the Last Call Challenger Promotion. That money is a gift that their father sent them from the same place my mother is. If you can open your hearts and see that as a blessing perhaps you will see that they made the right decision and one that their father would have wanted. If you are not convinced I will finish with this. Everything you have in life, including your dad’s car, can be gone in an instant. Flood, fire, tornado, hurricane, bankruptcy, tree falling, divorce, theft, etc. is just one bad day away from all of us. When that bad day arrives which will you choose A) getting your family to safety or B) making sure dad’s car is protected?

Went cross country in an AC - Ace with big straight 6. We took a seat out and could sit on floor for length & sleeping bag for padding. Looked like the 289 street Cobra. It was a conversation starter at gas stations. Seems the tubular steel frame was the magic part If various parts could bolt to that you could have something looking part Cobra, part Ariel Atom. Then a body of aluminum or whatever.. that car was simple, like doors were curved aluminum & a little latch. Nice memory & boy could it pass other cars.

Will a bigger torsion bar let me lower the front end more than a stock one?
@LifeatSpeed
@LifeatSpeed Ай бұрын
Typically no, because larger torsion bars have increased spring rates. To get the car even lower you'll need smaller bars, drop spindles or custom torsion bars with a different offset on the hex ends
