If most people heard this angelic genius's music, there would be very little of today's popular music (noise).

Great arrangement! Great performances! Pity it can only be enjoyed via KZfaq, but also great videography, giving us various views of the performers. Kudos to the page-turners. I have turned pages for a pianist (my father) and it is nerve wracking, keeping focused and making the page at just the right point so the pianist can absorb the notes in the last measure of the page and turn in time to take in the first measure of the next page. Keep that up for over an hour. It's not easy.

The involvement of the timpani was a great idea. It moved the sounding much closer to the original. How come that there were only a few people as audience?

Beethoven's awesome concepts, Liszts' respect and responsiveness to the composer's work and the awesome conciseness and precision of these two pianists makes this video recording an archive for the ages!

An interesting transcription of the Ninth, and nicely played. Beethoven’s Ninth is the greatest symphony ever written. I do prefer the symphony version, and attend its performance whenever I am able. Thanks for the video.

Did Liszt have Timpani in his score? This would sound great with organs.

I love how malleable classical music is. You can transcribe one instrument or group of instruments to another and it works. Prog rock can be orchestrated and has. I think orchestrating AC DC or rap would produce less salutary results since they are not music, but only vulgar noise fit for tone deaf low lifes.
