When I used to skate I used to take the bearings off my deck and boil them on the stove in water then re-lube them and put them back in the wheels and then put the wheels back on the trucks. We would spin the wheels after boiling and re-lubing them and they would spin far longer than before. Faster quieter and longer duration of spin. We used GMS bearings and when you boiled them some gunk would boil out into the water.

I lost most of my left eyebrow because a spacer wasn't put in right. That stuff can work fine until some random moment it finds the exact parameters to run the error someone didn't see. .... Don't worry it was an electric longboard. China man copied a board, slapped a cool design, did a good price and took advantage of the pandemic free money. The dude (Chinese dude still) never really tested much like QA such be done, they were after market. But... Apparently not when it comes to wheels. He never tested it or designed it so whoever gave him the files (Chinese is full of companies that copies whatever kinda thing) maybe didn't care Idk. The spacer was too short and I believe something wasn't correct on the bearing either. I don't ride crazy so I do full padding with gloves, 300 helmet (legit worth it), elbows, knees, a jacked that is padded in the chest elbow and back. I think one wheel just randomly got too much pressure and I got insane speed wobble (wasn't going fast maybe 15 tops) I jumped off, did 4 long save jumps to just think "oh shit this is how it ends." blacked out, apparently I got up and rode my board home because I don't remember getting home. I don't remember getting up and all that. Impressive. But ugly scar. The left out parts can really get insane but nobody asked or cares for my story. But yeah I like the speed cobra. Please don't mess up your spacers.

I can not get my 310 to function a full capacity and what I mean is I can't hit doubles easily on every stroke for whatever reason, I have adjusted this thing a million different ways and changed the beaters and I just don't like it..Also, i feel the beaters over extend when hitting the bass drum head, the base plate seems like it needs to come closer when mounting to the hoop... My 20-year-old Iron Cobra is a better pedal, super annoying..

I’ve had problems with my slave pedal not rebounding and being as springy as the master pedal even though I have the beater height, beater angle, and spring tension all setup the same. I was thinking that disassembling the pedals and cleaning/relubricating would be the only way to get them to feel the same. I hope this works
@jamtime5017
@jamtime5017 2 жыл бұрын
Change the slave tension and use a pull test to see if they bounce together. I like to push the beaters to the bass drum and then release at the same time. You're not going to have them completely bounce consistently together. What are looking for is to get as many as possible. If you can get three or four NSYNC that's good start. Just keep adjusting the best that you can.

For the price DW should give you the chain drive and direct drive assembly for each pedal to convert between the 2 different drive types instead of having 2 separate product lines ... then I watched all this video and seen that the mounting connection for the footboards are different, doh!!!

Appreciate you trying to help people but your actually ruining the pedal. Those are sealed bearings. That lube your spraying on them is getting into the bearing housing and actually removing the grease that’s inside from the factory. All u can do with sealed bearings is replace them but those are very high end bearings that come with this pedal so their lifespan is very long. Cleaning up around the bearings and race’s is fine and even spraying a very small amount of chain lube is fine too but what you just showed people in regards to the bearings will cut their lifespan down dramatically.

just bought these. Hope they end up being worthy. Bought the trick pro 1-V. I hated it. Bought three spring kits for it and it just sucked feel wise. When to a demon drive which was awesome for about a day before the heel hinge developed so much play you feel a knocking in both pedals. Even after trying to tighten them with their set screw adjustments. Heres hoping I made the right choice.

Wow man, lucky you. I live in south America and wanna get one of these. How different are they in terms of playing? Are the MCD pedals as smooth as the MDD, or are they more similar to the 9002? I have the 9002 and wanna buy the MCD, but I don´t wanna be desilusioned when I get them if there is no real difference.
@jeffrobbins
@jeffrobbins 6 жыл бұрын
Honestly, if you already have the 9002's and are looking for an upgrade with a different feel, get the MDD's. I've played hundreds of shows with them and they are awesome. You lose that "floating" feeling with the direct drives but they are my personal favorites. I love the quality and adjustablilty with the MCD's over the 9002's, but my go to is the MDD's. Hope this helps!

How are these holding up? Do you still prefer the MDD's over MCD? I'm in a similar boat, I got 9002's, love 'em, but wonder 'what could be'... if I got any of the MFG pedals... I've never played any direct drive pedal before. My local guitar center don't have them on kits to try out or play.. only thing I got really is KZfaq vids for feedback. MCD's appeal to me... but if they are even slightly similar feeling to 9000's then I'd be better off just saving my money or going MDD. My current main project is a hard rock/grunge band, mostly single pedal stuff, do a lot of doubles, I saw someone else say for people who like to do these things a chain drive might be more suit, whereas fast double bass single stuff MDD's would be more beneficial

Probably the best videos I've seen on this in terms of dismantling the pedal, cleaning & reassembly as well as being applicable to the Iron Cobra's - at least the 900 something or other ones. I just took mine apart recently to clean and apply lubrication, as well as putting the rolling cams on. There's a lot of screws and small parts to keep track of but otherwise fairly easy to do. There was a comment questioning the point of cleaning/lubricating - in 8yrs I've done it twice, dust and other tiny particles eventually find their way in, lubricant won't last decades either. Dust etc becomes trapped within the lube which increases friction and degrades the lubricant over time - might be much but it's enough that after cleaning etc the difference is there.

They are both great pedals, and I think you get more for your money with the Mapex, however, I ended up growing to love the speed cobras once I got them setup right. The adjustments aren’t as great on the SCs as the Mapex, but I got used to them and feel I can play faster with them then the Mapex. I have switched to the DW Machined doubles now, but all for the price these two pedals are fabulous.
