tip, if you take the time to build a reference frame/jig on the floor that's square and level you can us it as measuring points. 80/20 is great due to the T-Slot ability to build verticals that are adjustable. oh and shave that stupid beard off.

Hey man do you still have the tj also what axles are you running under the tj and xj
@MuddyBeards4X48 сағат бұрын
Yes I still have the TJ, its next for a full build. The Tj currently has no axles and the xj is getting one tons, d60 front and sterling 10.5 rear.

Ok, so just found the answer to my question. Good god I can’t imagine running 40s on a TJ at this point. 37s max. And I’m debating on that. In the days when I used to wheel, the MTR Kevlars were pretty hard to beat unless you were down in Parker and Kingman then the granite would tear them up. I especially liked them over at Liberty.

Ok what do you like better about this than the 8274? I never have been up to Reiter. Maybe when the Jeep is whole again. Also, this is inspiring me to get back to working on my TJ and get it back on the road. What size freakin tires are you running on that anyway?

What did you do with your charcoal canister?
@MuddyBeards4X43 күн бұрын
My charcoal canister is under the hood, it’s a 97 so it has a slightly different setup than the newer Tj’s

Super relatable gear layout. Honestly less than I thought you’d have in the bed under the rtt and bed rack! Love this build, super capable, attainable, and motivating!!

Thanks, when you add extra fuel, water, spare parts, leveling blocks, and all the small random stuff, the bed fills up pretty quick. This bed is sooo small.

Awesome video. Thanks for sharing how you pack, especially the HF packs. I’ve been wanting to do the same. For the propane, is it easy to find places to fill it? I’m looking into a 5lb or less tank.

I have 2 places within 5 minutes of me, so I am lucky there but I have never had trouble finding places when I am traveling.

Nice mix of gear, mine is the same way, some super budget stuff and a few bougie items haha. Dont those LiFePO4 batteries require a specific charger though? When I looked at them it said you can charge them via normal means/chargers but it degrades the battery and youre supposed to use a lifepo4 charger.( I bought one for the nephews power wheels) Just curious how that works when adding them to a vehicle house battery setup
@MuddyBeards4X47 күн бұрын
Thanks, yes I do have a specific charger for that battery, but the charge controller with solar and dc to dc charging is meant for this type of battery so it will be fine.
I’ll 2nd the dometic faucet. I adapted mine to use standard water jugs and ran a long hose so I can have the jugs up by the cab and faucet on the tailgate.
@MuddyBeards4X47 күн бұрын
Nice, I was curious about how long a hose I could use with it. It would be great to use the larger water can remotely.

Whats the census of weldinf a truss on a dana35 rear axle on TJ? Do i really need to remove internals?
@dabrownconservative784310 күн бұрын
Regarding welding onto the pumpkin, is the shell on the pumpkin cast or just simple steel?
@dabrownconservative784310 күн бұрын
In regards to the truss. How did you know where to weld it on the axle? I've purchased a Barnes truss for my rear Dana35 and I feel nervous about welding it in the wrong position that it affects pinion angle.

I need a tube notcher to cut an offset hole out of a 1 inch OD x .065 wall 4130 tube It does not look this notcher can do offset holes so I figured I would ask if anyone knows of an off-the-self notcher that can do offset holes? It seems like IF I made a couple spacer plates on the pipe clamp side that would get me what I need but I'm trying to avoid that. Does anyone know if there is an off-the-shelf notcher that can do offsets I dont see any in my searches? Thanks
