Ugh the balance between our expectations and practicality is hard. How much can we complain about before we are actually happy? When you book, don't you know you get what you lay for? Travel in itself carries the possibility of things going wrong. We live in the realm world right? People run this shit and people on themselves are not perfect. So, the complaints about esthetics are Ikk. Like, calm down, it's not first class. Not the author of this video but the comments have me shook. Like WTF do you people expect? Yikes

There are many countries now that recognize The Armenian Genocide. It is often said that that is where Hitler got many of his ideas.

You know, US citizens often get crap for not traveling internationally but, from my perspective there's no way you could get me to go to turkey. That whole region is presented as constant danger to "Americans".

I've made it a habit to travel from the Continent to the UK by train and/or ferryboat. IJmuiden near Amsterdam to Newcastle is about 17 hours, which is plenty of time to enjoy the roof bar, restaurant, some company, a good night's sleep and an extended breakfast before arrival. Mostly I book a cabin for two and have been lucky so far to have it for myself. In the 1980s and 90s I'd use the ferryboat from Brindisi to Patras a couple of times. Travel time is similar to IJmuiden - Newcastle, although during summertime you could spend the night on the upper deck and enjoy the night sky.

There's still many ferries from France and Spain to Morocco, for example. Plus, if I remember correctly, there's still a number from France, Spain and Italy to Algeria.

Modern-day Turkey is a mixed nation of brutally assimilated native Anatolian Christians by nomad Mongolo-Turkic tribes. The assimilation process lasted several centuries with violence and massacres of those who wanted to keep their identity and culture. Culturally more advanced and racially different Anatolian Christians would never accept the culture of barbaric nomads. Therefore, nomads exterminated the majority of Christians and assimilated the rest, mostly children and women. By admitting the truth of forced genetic and cultural assimilation of the Christian people Turks will face an identity crisis that might lead to a civil war. Therefore, the Turkish government and national leaders falsify history and cultivate Turkish nationalism for the consolidation of the nation. Certainly, if some young man learned that his ancestors from the female side were raped and forced to accept a primitive culture, he would be ashamed of his family story and of his nation's history. Many modern Turks, who have fair complexion and look like Europeans question their true origin.

Honestly you kinda sold me on this night train! I always pictured them as shady stuff in which strangers are waiting for you to go to sleep to steal your stuff, but the possibility to book a whole room to yourself is great, especially when traveling with a boyfriend/girlfriend or two or three friends. Will definitely look into this option next time I have to go to Hamburg or Amsterdam.

Did you see anyone with a dog? I reckoned it would be impossible to take a dog that isn't trained to use a pee pad which I would say are very uncommon in Europe? Because in theory I would be interested in the journey but thought with my dog it would never work

First of all regarding Tunis/Tunisia, a lot of people speak French as well as Arabic. Very friendly people. Your voice and tone is seductive, however, your education regarding what you are traveling upon/on/in is NOT a boat. It is technically a Roll On Roll Off FERRY! Meaning it is transport, not a cruise. So soap is something you need to provide, or pay mega-dollars for it on the Ferry. You are a younger person so why don’t you make part of your journeys for us about local situation/customs, etc.. This would allow myself to keep watching you. Currently you are just another person connecting with the younger ones of the World; why not educate and connect with all journey-hunters!? I say this as your voice is authoritative enough, and your iambic-meter (as currently used) is perfect for this purpose. Oh now the negative: Be more sure of yourself. You several times were quite negative about yourself. People WILL turn-off or tine-out and you will not be heard. Myself, I almost did this twice. I chose to watch until the end: -As I wanted, and needed to send this note to you. I Thank You for reading. Moreover I do hope that you understand my message. 😊

Nice video, but why do you keep saying that this ferry is one of the last way to travel from Europe to Africa by ferry? You can travel from Italy, France and Spain to Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. The same its been since forever. They are mostly for trucks.

People on these bus are the worst population I've ever been in contact. This is a shame that they are even allowed to be on the soil of Western Europe. We Westerners are better because we are educated, respectful, we worry about others, we are blindly tolerant and open minded, better looking and smarter.

so interesting, i had not heard of this train. it looks kinda cute to me and knowing what to expect in terms of noise and service, my first thought is that i would love to use it! - - - as long as its still new. after some time it will look as gross as every ice interior and be all sticky and i would be hesitant to put my bag down in there, let alone any personal items during the night.

I am a regularely long distance train traveller in Germany and i must say that the comfort or better non comfort of flixtrain seats are only for short 1 - 2 hours journeys to use. I did a trip about 6 hours from Berlin to Cologne and when i left the train at my final destination i felt like a folded paper sheet. I also have a Bahncard 25 and when i book early enough in advance i can travel long distances by DB with ICE trains for 19,90€ or 29,90€ in the 2nd class. For long distance trips i would always take a ticket from DB !
