It’s cool technology, but its just not going to get enough widespread attention. I highly doubt that they’ll expand it to more states, the only reason they haven’t quit on it yet has to be due to the existing infrastructure that Hydrogen has.

I too have a 2019 Lacrosse Essence (Dark Gray). I love this car...fantastic gas mileage...super quiet & comfortable...classy looking. I have enjoyed most of your videos...wished you had more to say on the car...what speeds you were actually doing...if you used cruise control at all. At one point you had to put air in your tire...what is your normal setting? I understand you have this deep desire to own an EV, hence all the stops you make to check out the charging stations, I get it. You should feel blessed for what you have.

I did no more than 5 over the speed limit. Most of the way I was allegedly doing 75 mph. Used Cruise Control when possible. I try to keep the tires at 34 PSI per manufacturer spec. I had to deflate them a few days prior due to a heat wave in Charlotte, hence why I had to stop for Air. As much of an EV fan I am, I do still love my car. I’m actually treating her to a full detail as I write this comment. So lucky to have such a wonderful vehicle!

I actually traded my Tesla Model Y for a Blazer EV RS AWD because I thought the Tesla was squirrels when driving at highway speeds. The Y was my second of that model and both had bad issues with navigation not knowing where it was and could not reset. Also, I think the Chevy is much better built, feels more solid, and has much less body squeaks and rattles. I agree with your assessment that ithe Blazer EV is very good over bumpy terrain. As far as the 0-60 time, I don't understand whey that is so important unless you are racing someone. Once you hit 60, it's the same speed in any car and you will get there at the same time.
@TheRandomAlphaDrive
@TheRandomAlphaDrive Ай бұрын
0-60 can also have other benefits aside from just fun. Sometimes slamming on the breaks isn’t the answer to avoid a collision. The faster your car can accelerate, the faster you can get out of that situation. That’s why I still believe it should be evaluated even in non performance vehicles. You never know when you might need it.

Can you clarify whether the base model that will be coming out toward the end of the year will actually have the same size battery as the existing trim? I heard the battery was going to be smaller and hence less range.
@TheRandomAlphaDrive
@TheRandomAlphaDrive 2 ай бұрын
I’ve heard that all models are supposed to get the same 85 kWh battery. GM really wants to market the fact that their EV can go over 315 miles for $35,000ish because right now the competition doesn’t offer that. At least, that’s what I hear from Fellow reviewers press materials.

Why are you treating the Tesla Model Y as if it were the benchmark that all EV's are to be compared to? That's all about how you think about such things because as you admit, its hardly the on of its type in the segment and as anyone who's looked at a Tesla knows, they're not vehicles that couldn't use more than their fair share of improvement (shoddy build quality - panel gaps aplenty - cheep seeming and feeling interiors, dangerous driver assistance technology, etc). And as far as the frunk goes, you do know it has a roomy back way larger than any frunk, right?

So in other words, you don’t want me to report the cons about a product. Yeah, not gonna happen dude. I wouldn’t be a fair reviewer if I didn’t point out the faults and the flaws. Also, to make an unbiased review is impossible. Everyone, even reviewers have their preferences. I try to be transparent with my biases and preferences so the people who share them can factor that opinion in, or disregard it should they disagree with my preference. If you’re looking for just a spec sheet or a feature list, then just go to the manufacturers website. You don’t need me to relay that. My job as a reviewer is to test the product and report my experience and findings. My apologies if you don’t like reviewers actually doing their jobs.

A few pieces of advice for future videos. Get a proper lapel microphone with filter. Your voice quality will vastly improve. *CHECK YOUR SPELLING!!!* - Saw a couple errors that needed to be fixed. ( see time frame 5:02 for example- “Lauch” ) This is important if you want to be seen as a professional. Annoying/Repetitive music - I know music is subjective but your choice is too heavy on the bass and repetitive. Best to not have it at all. It’s quite annoying. Now onto a few corrections. Yes there IS an motor under that useless plastic cover under the hood. Why they covered it…don’t know. Absolutely pointless though. That Ultium EVSE can handle up to 11.7Kw….IF the EV supports it. Any GM EV 2022+ does support it. The Ambiant Lighting is pathetic in this EV. The lights are tiny LEDS that are in the center of the vent “wheels”. All in all it is a very in-depth review and you have an awful lot of potential. Keep it up. 👍🏻
@TheRandomAlphaDrive
@TheRandomAlphaDrive 3 ай бұрын
And just so you know, it is impossible for that mobile EVSE to deliver 11 kW because of the 80% Rule. According to the 80% Rule within our building codes, any circuit running a continuous load past 3 hours (this includes charging an EV, even if you don’t allow it to charge for over 3 hours) must be capped at 80% of the circuit’s capacity. That EVSE comes with a NEMA 14-50 plug that supports up to 50 amps. The 80% rule limits that to 40 amps as a maximum for EV Charging. 240V x 40A = 9.6 kW. To get the full 11.5 kW, you will need to hardwire an EVSE to a 60A circuit. Last I checked, you can’t hardwire a mobile EVSE. That would make it no longer mobile, defeating the purpose of it. I should have also confirmed the actual power rating of that EVSE. According to GM’s own website, that EVSE will deliver 7.7 kW to the car (32A after applying the 80% Rule). Also there was no motor under the hood. My tester was the RWD model. Meaning a single motor in the rear and nothing up front. I appreciate the feedback. I know my audio sucks, I just haven’t found a solution that works. I can’t seem to find any mic at a reasonable price that actually works! I’m actually surprised spell check didn’t pick up my spelling. Sorry about that. And for the music, it’s not supposed to be important. I feel my videos need it, but I don’t want it the situation to be “Woah, this video only rocks but only because of the music!” I personally don’t think that track is the best, but I have yet to find another track that does the job better and it isn’t already used for my other channels.
