...I used this for years,...( I have been painting and re- doing Furniture, long before it became " A Business " - 33+ years ) .. The thing with this Product, you have to often give it a second pass... let dry. Then use the Howard's " Feed n Wax " afterwards. Also,on some pieces, ..its advisable to lightly sand before using this Product, so it has a better " adhesion factor."

Hello Shannon, Many years ago I was a painter for my city. When tasked with painting metal doors, I used both roller and brush, after prepping the surface I would mix an oil based enamel paint with a little thinner and roll it on thin and wait a minute or two and then go in with the brush making one stroke from end to end continuing the width of the door and when I was done, it looked like I sprayed the door. Maybe this will be of help.

Easy to see the brush marks. If you spray well consider spraying. People will complain about the brush marks. I believe this paint dries to quickly as even roller texture is visible.

Interesting,. I never rolled or brushed. Strictly lacquer spray colors. It used to be that you needed a huge compressor for it, but so many field turbines, have now turned into full time uses for shops. You can get really nice ones for $500 or less. Once you spray you will never go back. best of luck. It's all with experience and lots of learning curves. Don't get discouraged. You will find your happy place in no time

I'm a professional cabinet painter and I use advance. Advance is a hybrid product. Advance is self leveling. Never dry roll ma'am. This video was a hot mess from start to finish. Your close ups had trash in the paint. Always strain your paint and use a tack cloth as your final wipe before applying finish. And FYI, you should research your products before filming because with advance you are suppose to wait 16 hours between coats. This paint dries from the inside out. With advance, those bubbles would have disappeared. Advance self levels. Who ever told you to dry roll is an idiot. That's where all your trash is coming from.

Curious as to why you used a semi gloss

Why are you spraying tops with shellac in the opening part of video? The top was all sanded down. ( Im not asking about the later part, i understand there about the sanding then spray to make it even in finish. ) Im just confused why you showed the spraying of shellac on a sanded dresser in opening intro. Are we supposed the start everything with shellac spray first?

I’m trying to incorporate an Older Thomasville tower (real wood) and new Murphy bed which looks like it has an IKEA finish. Once I sand and primed the wood cabinet. Could I use the same technique on both? Thanks in advance 😊

Thank you so much for sharing! I love that you are so generous with what you have learned along the way. I am actively trying this style right now. My base layer is currently drying and I am impatiently waiting to apply the glaze! 😊 I haven’t been able to find that crevice cleaning tool/brush. Where did you get that?

I did it! After months of watching, then several weeks of staring at a half- painted nightstand, I finally attempted the PB wood look following your instructions! Used Open Cyn and Brown stain, I was in awe after one swipe with my deck brush! Wow! Why did I delay so long! Thank you for being fearless and creating this method!!

I will try this but do the aggressive, hard with the brush and take as much stain possible, then soften everything at the end with those green soft rollers.

well dear , you messed up with that cheapo walmart brush ... get you a Corona or Purdy brush for starters ..... tools matter a LOT ...... However I commend you on your honesty , a lot of these youtubers show their "finished work" from 5 feet away , hiding the orange peel and brush strokes ..... You are an honest youtuber , thank you for that ..... Here's how I did it - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m9B7hZii35-dp5c.html

Question. From what I understood from the video. If I didn't like the way my glasses came out and color. I don't need to strip it down and sand. I can simply repaint it and add the glaze again?

I tried this but it looks a bit streaky. Does it matter if you use a water or oil based glaze? Also, I live in Texas and it's a bit humid and hot. Could that cause this? Not sure what I did wrong. I primed. Painted a beige color. Then I used the glaze with a bit of water spread it out with a brush then used the sponge. I waited a few seconds before using the sponge as it was it was taking most of the glaze off. Any tips?
@blacksheephouse6 күн бұрын
Hi! I don’t add water and don’t recommend it since it’ll make the glaze too runny. The glaze holds its texture well and you need that for this finish to have the “stripes” of brown after you use the rubber dog grooming bush and whisk broom for the wood effect 🖤
