A perfect season...until the last three games. ...If Weaver bunts Lowenstein in the 8th inning of Game 2 as he should have, it may very well have ended as a 4 game Orioles' sweep. If...

No-one outside of being an O’s fan wanted to see them win vs. the We Are Family Pirates. The O’s were even better in 1980, but thanks to a still-stupid Playoff format, had to settle for 2nd Place and 100 wins. The 1983 Orioles won it all vs. a gray-beard Phillies team, and that’s been it for some time. More awful years than good ones, since.

What a great season that was. One of the all-time BEST lineups in Orioles history. Going to a game at Memorial Stadium was like walking into a backyard party with 35,000 friends and neighbors. Wild Bill Hagy cheering on the crowd on top of the O's dugout, Rick Dempsey sliding around on the plastic field cover during rain delays, Eddie Murray, Lee May, "The Crow" Terry Crowley, and the great Earl Weaver at the helm. Thanks for all the wonderful summer time memories.

Ellie Hendricks also hit a HR in the 1st Game and his two-run Double in the 5th inning decided Game #2.

What's up with not saying (or showing) anything about the Orioles winning the 1966 or 1970 World Series??? You talk about how they lost in 1969 & 1971 but not how they won in 1966 & 1970??? Otherwise a great video!!!

Good trivia. What do the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens have in common. They both were the Browns.

He made some incredible fielding plays in this World Series. Few remember he was also victimized by a great defensive play in a World Series. Brooks Robinson hit what was a sure extra base hit in Game 4 of the 69 Series against Tom Seaver and the Mets. This time he would fall victim to Ron Swoboda's diving catch even though Baltimore did score the tying run. Brooks Robinson great all around ball player and great man. RIP.

I was there for the Doug De Cinces home run, sitting in Section 13 in left field, not far from where the ball went over the fence. The weird thing about that night was that you just had a feeling it was going to happen. There was a big crowd at Memorial Stadium - but nobody left the stadium when they were down by 2 in the 9th. Everybody stayed and stood up and started cheering. The atmosphere was electric.

I remember this run clearly. It occurred when I was beginning to love the game. My journey began when the Cardinals won 64.’ I remember watching Buford, Blair, Powell, Brooks, Frank, Cuellar etc. etc.

Any truth to the rumor that Edward Bennett Williams predicted during the Orioles' 1983 World Series championship celebrations that the song "Don't Disturb This Groove" by The System would be a big hit in just a few years? I hear that dude was hip to some sweet tunes, man!
