The model looked promising,but when I printed it, some of the details metioned on printables were not correct. I hope the author will fix the description.

I have a 3018 I cut carbon fiber with, I really like how with your machine you don’t need to affix your pieces to be machined, I have a laser I have not yet put on mine but I think because the build plate is my y axis I’ll have to clamp down the workpiece as it will move forward and back which may shift things

So your circuit works, yes you can step down 24V to 12V with voltage regulator, but you are wasting half of the energy. Normally you step down from 24V to say 13V or 14V with a buck converter and then use a voltage regulator to get a nice signal.

i didn't understand why do we need arduino for controlling a motor ?

hey, idk are u still here but, instead of some kind of converter to use just a resistor? im not an electronic engeener but ist just seem simple enougth to dropout a voltage (3:50)
@michaorczyk67044 ай бұрын
8:55 schemat. voltage regulator skipped the hotends' fuse - it should be connected to (+) of the FAN Pin or (+) of HE. The motherboard fan and PSU fan are connected to HE1, but HE has current regulation for hotend, so it will work with variable intensity and only during HE heating. What if a bed is heated first? Then PSU and motherboard is not cooled properly! What if printing is finished? Then hotend is not cooled down and it could be dangerous to just leave it without supervision - it should be connected to e.g. (-) HE1

Everyone misses the biggest negative about this laser. You cannot remove the shroud at the bottom of the module. This effectively renders the machine useless for engraving anything that has hardware attached to it that is higher than the focus height, like watchbands for instance.

Hot glue worked great for my first good models, and it's great for quickly getting up and going, but you will absolutely LOVE e6000 and CA glue. As long as the Cyanoacrylate doesnt melt the foam you use, in which case I'd switch to EPP foam anyways The amount of weight vs the strength you're getting from all that hot glue makes things a lot harder to balance and fly well. Give the other glue's a try, I know you won't go back!

I had a thought regarding the KFm3 airfoil. To find the difference in energy usage in flight between covering up the steps versus uncovered steps. How much of a difference in flight time the steps make regarding the drag that they would produce while in flight. Hopefully it would be negligible. Thanks again for a great explanation of the KF concept.

Only upgrades Id suggest would be to change tires/wheels and blank out the wheel arches so you cant see straight through to the other side.
